I use Google ads but I have to say I don’t generate a huge amount of revenue through them. The revenue is dependent on the content (sports content wouldn’t generate as much as say financial blogs) and the part of the world the views are generated from. Being a cricket focused site, a large part of my audience comes the subcontinent. You ideally want to be hitting Western Europe and North American markets.
However, I’ve found that affiliate links particularly to sports betting sites are a good way to generate income and more in keeping with the audiences you are likely to attract to a sports site. Essentially you take a % of the site’s profit for anyone who signs up via the ads on your site
Good to know. thanks for the info.
I wouldn't have much experience in this area and find the whole concept very interesting.
There is a lot to learn in terms of analytics, ad revenue and site optimization but it's an area that I would like to know more about.
Also handy to know if anything develops in the future. Multiple revenue streams are very important to grow out a business.
