Changes never stop in Sunflower Land. For those unfamiliar with it, Sunflower Land is a farming game where players plant crops, care for animals, and use the resulting resources to craft food and items or complete quests. A lot has happened regarding updates over the game's four-plus years of existence, but it has been a long time since the economy saw changes as impactful as those occurring in recent days...
Amidst studio closures, games shifting from Web3 to Web2, and NFT games shutting down, the team behind Sunflower Land has turned its focus to the game's economy. This is clearly evident in the recent 5% fee increase for players located on the islands prior to the Volcano—which accounts for the majority of the player base.
Furthermore, there is now a stricter requirement regarding the reputation needed to withdraw Flower tokens; the threshold has risen to 1,000 points (Grand Harvester). This will likely drive players to level up or expand their islands to the Volcano, as many currently fall just 50 points short of the requirement.
For players looking to level up, demand for food resources—such as milk (for cheese), tomatoes, lemons, and wheat—may increase. Additionally, those currently in the Desert who decide to move to the Volcano will need large quantities of gold, Crimstone, leather, and other resources. Finally, with the arrival of "Ascension," players at the Volcano stage are expected to continue their progression and climb even higher.
All these factors could drive up the demand for resources, thereby keeping the game's economy thriving. After all, if no players are interested in using the resources obtained in the game, their value would tend toward zero, causing the market to stop functioning. However, there are more changes on the way that will impact the economy—such as the changes to gems!

Gems are an extremely important and hard-to-obtain resource in Sunflower Land. To keep generating in-game resources, players generally need tools with limited supplies; although there is a small daily restock for some items, maintaining the same intensity of mining and farming requires restocking using Gems.
As such, they represent a cost for the player that funds the game's continued operation—since, if I'm not mistaken, the Sunflower Land team is paid through Gem purchases and market fees, making this a primary token-burning mechanism as well. Therefore, any change to the cost or acquisition method of Gems is highly significant for every player.
Two changes regarding Gems are coming to Sunflower Land. The first concerns the cost of purchasing Gems with Flower. Currently, there is a 30% discount, but this discount rate will decrease after a few days; this will essentially raise the cost of Gems and, consequently, the cost of all in-game resources that rely on them.
For those who haven't yet secured VIP status for the coming months, now might be a good time to do so. I’ve noticed the token price starting to rise—most likely because players are already buying Gems for their upcoming VIP subscriptions. The Flower token, which had been trading below 7 cents for quite some time, recently reached $0.0725.
Another subtle change involves the ability to purchase a specific quantity of gems. Previously, players had to choose from set amounts like 100, 650, or 1,350... Now, they can select the exact quantity they need.
An important detail—which was actually raised as a question by one of the players—is whether the discounts for purchasing larger quantities would remain in place. Adam himself confirmed that they would; in other words, if you select the 1,350 quantity, you will likely receive a discount similar to the 34% one offered in the store.

Com o fechamento de estúdios, jogos saindo da web3 para a web2, jogos nfts fechando as portas, o foco do time por trás do Sunflower Land se voltou para a economia do jogo. Isso fica bem evidente com base na última mudança com relação ao aumento de 5% na taxa para os jogadores que estão nas ilhas antes do vulcão, que é a maioria dos jogadores.
Além disso, vimos também uma rigidez maior com relação à reputação necessária para estar habilitado para sacar os tokens Flower que aumentou para 1000 pontos (Grand Harvester), o que vai fazer com que os jogadores subam de nível e/ou expandam a ilha para o vulcão, porque no geral acaba faltando 50 pontos.
Para os jogadores que vão aumentar o nível, pode ser que demanda por recursos de comida como leite para fazer queijo, tomate, limão, wheat aumenta. Junto disso, para quem estiver no deserto e resolver ir para o vulcão vai precisar de ouro, crimstone, leather e os outros recursos em grande quantidade. Por fim, com a chegada da Ascensão a expectativa é que os jogadores do vulcão vão continuar a progressão para subir ainda mais.
Todos esses são fatores que podem motivar o aumento da demanda por recursos o que manteria a economia do jogo viva. Afinal, se nenhum jogador tem interesse em utilizar os recursos obtidos no jogo, então a tendência seria eles irem para 0, o que faria com que o mercado parasse de funcionar. Só que ainda temos mais mudanças que estão chegando e vão impactar a economia, como as mudanças nas gemas!

Para que os jogadores continuem gerando recursos dentro do jogo, eles precisam geralmente de ferramentas que tem um estoque limitado, por mais que haja um pequeno re-estoque diário de alguns items, para continuar minerando e farmando na mesma intensidade é necessário fazer o re-estoque com gemas.
Com isso, elas são um dos custos que o jogador possui e que financiam a própria continuação do jogo, porque se não me engano é através da gemas e das da fees de mercado que o time do Sunflower Lands é pago, sendo um dos principais locais de queima de tokens também... Por isso, qualquer mudança no custo e na forma de conseguir gemas é bem importante para qualquer jogador.
Teremos duas mudanças relacionadas à gemas chegando ao Sunflower Lands. A primeira delas é relacionado ao custo de comprar gemas com flower. Atualmente há um desconto de 30%, mas que depois de alguns dias esse valor de desconto vai reduzir, o que irá basicamente aumentar o custo da gema e consequentemente todo o custo dos recursos dentro do jogo já que eles dependem de gemas.
Para quem ainda não pegou o VIP para os próximos meses agora pode ser um bom momento, notei que o preço do token começou a subir muito provavelmente por conta dos jogadores estarem já comprando as gemas para o vip dos próximos meses. O token flower que estava abaixo de 7 centavos por um bom tempo, esses dias chegou à $0,0725.
Em seguida, uma mudança sutil é na possibilidade de comprar uma quantidade específica de gemas. Antes os jogadores tinham que escolher dentre valores específicos como 100, 650 ou 1350... Agora eles podem escolher a quantidade exata que estão precisando.
Um detalhe importante e que foi até mesmo pergunta por um dos jogadores é se os descontos de comprar uma quantidade maior continuariam presentes. A resposta do próprio Adam foi de que sim, ou seja, se você colocar a quantidade de 1350 é bem provável que tenha um desconto semelhante ao de 34% da loja.
