Current SPS Situation - Internal
When I entered Splinterlands to check it out and play the Brawls matches, I ended up getting a NEGATIVE surprise, regarding the current situation of the SPS token! Not long ago we were watching the Splinterlands governance token reach close to $0.01 again, reaching close to $0.009 about 40 days ago. To my surprise, when I went to check the price of SPS on the game dashboard, the value of the token was close to reaching $0.005.
We are talking about half of players' expected growth in less than 2 months, a drop of almost 50% in a very short space of time. After the impact and surprise, it is normal to ask yourself why this is happening and seek to know the situation of the SPS in general. Starting with the SPS token, it was widely speculated in relation to the purchase of packs, as the team was accepting it at close to $0.01 so after the sale of packs came to an end, demand for this function reduced.
As for the utility of the normal token, the Stake APR is close to 7.50%, while there are other more profitable options in DeFis and staking, which discourages players regarding the APR. And it seems that it is now easier to rent SPS, so the demand for having SPS in your own stake already seems to have decreased as the rental market meets this need. Therefore, possible solutions would be to increase the APR, perhaps adding a little glint or season chests for the stake; encouraging players to put liquidity in pools, which no longer happens after removing incentives and looking for more ways to use SPS directly in the game.
Current SPS Situation - External
Expanding the analysis beyond the SPS token, we have the market in general that has been facing a very negative period with BTC being traded at around 65k, and the whole issue of global uncertainty with wars. This generates a cascading effect, which starts with Bitcoin, and goes to altcoins, having an impact on the network token itself that Splinterlands operates and then on the network's tokens. It is a reduction in general liquidity that ends up happening, because money leaves the market to safer places.
Interestingly, even in this chaotic situation, two other tokens from the Splinterlands ecosystem have performed reasonably well. The DEC, which had fallen well below its "parity" of 1000 DEC = $1, has now shown a slight increase, reaching close to $0.70. The Voucher, which was once an unlinked token, is now linked with an option to exchange for DEC, has been stable, with a slight drop, around $0.02.
A few months ago the number of active players in Splinterlands was greater than 5000, while currently that number is closer to 4000, with some days recording numbers lower than that. This Bear Market in the crypto system has caused some most affected users to decide to stay away for a period, which causes the number of players to decrease, as investments decrease and negative sentiment dominates during the Bear. As much as news and updates continue to be made to Splinterlands, we do not see an arrival of new players to the game, partly due to the current market sentiment.

Quando entrei no Splinterlands para dar uma conferida e jogar as partidas do Brawls, acabei tomando uma surpresa NEGATIVA, com relação à situação atual do token SPS! Há não muito tempo estávamos acompanhando o token de governância do Splinterlands chegar próximo de $0,01 novamente, alcançando próximo de $0,009 há uns 40 dias atrás. Para a minha surpresa, quando fui conferir o preço do SPS no dashboard do jogo, o valor do token estava próximo de chegar nos $0,005.
Estamos falando de metade da expectativa de alta dos jogadores em menos de 2 meses, uma queda de quase 50% em um espaço de tempo muito curto. Depois do impacto e da surpresa, é normal se perguntar porque isso está acontecendo e procurar saber a situação do SPS no geral. Começando com o token SPS, ele foi amplamente especulado com relação à compra de packs, já que o time estava aceitando ele próximo de $0,01 então depois que a venda dos packs vem chegando ao fim, a procurar para essa função reduziu.
Enquanto à utilidade do token normal, o APR do Stake está próximo de 7,50%, enquanto há outras opções mais rentáveis em DeFis e stakes, o que desanima os jogadores com relação ao APR. E parece que já está mais fácil de conseguir alugar SPS, então a demanda por ter o SPS em Stake próprio já parece ter diminuído já que o mercado de aluguel supre essa necessidade. Com isso, possíveis soluções seriam incrementar o APR, talvez adicionando um pouco de glint ou baús de season pelo stake; incentivar os jogadores à colocar liquidez nas pools, que não acontece mais depois de tirarem os incentivos e procurar mais formas de usar o SPS diretamente no jogo.
Situação Atual do SPS - Externa
Expandindo a análise para além do token SPS, temos o mercado no geral que vem enfrentando um período bem negativo com o BTC sendo negociado por volta dos 65k, e toda a questão da incerteza global com as guerras. Isso gera um efeito em cascata, que começa com o Bitcoin, e vai para as altcoins, tendo um impacto no próprio token da rede que o Splinterlands opera e depois nos tokens da rede. É uma redução de liquidez geral que acaba acontecendo, porque o dinheiro sai do mercado para locais mais seguros.
Curiosamente mesmo nessa situação caótica, outros dois tokens do ecossistema do Splinterlands tem performado razoávelmente bem. O DEC que havia caído bem abaixo da sua "paridade" de 1000 DEC = $1, agora vem apresentando um leve subida, chegando próximo de $0,70. Já o Voucher, que já foi um token desvinculado, agora é vinculado com opção de troca por DEC, tem ficado estável, com uma leve queda, por volta dos $0,02.
Há alguns meses atrás o número de jogadores ativos no Splinterlands estava maior do que 5000, enquanto atualmente esse número está mais próximo de 4000, com alguns dias registrando números menores que esse. Esse Bear Market no sistema crypto, tem feito com que alguns usuários mais afetados resolvam se afastar por um período, o que faz com que o número de jogadores diminua, já que os investimentos diminuem e o sentimento negativo domina durante o Bear. Por mais que novidades e updates continuem sendo feitos no Splinterlands, não vemos uma chegada de novos jogadores ao jogo, em parte pelo sentimento atual do mercado.
