It seems Sunflower Lands will have a major update next season that will make a big change to the game's fishing system. Main News from the Fishing Update
The next chapter of Sunflower Lands seems to be related to fishing, and some of the possible changes coming to fishing have been revealed on the game's GitHub. Among the main changes, the first will be in the mini-game itself, called Turbulent Water, where you will have to guide your fish to the surface by selecting the correct path, and it will be possible to use several fishing rods at once.
Next, there will be a new building where players can exchange fish for Fish Flakes, Fish Sticks, and Fish Oil, which will be used to obtain certain specific fish in a guaranteed way. Having some of these fish stored might be interesting, but since a "Freshness" system will be implemented where you can exchange some fish for these resources on specific days, it may not be worthwhile to keep them stored.

- 5 Snapper, 3 Surgeonfish, 1 Hammerhead, Fish Flake = Fish Stick
- 5 Tuna, 3 Oarfish, 1 Whale Shark, Fish Stick = Fish Oil
Finally, there will be a change in how to obtain Marine Marvels. They will add a Treasure Map mechanism, where obtaining 9 fragments will grant you a Marine Marvel. Additionally, each chapter will have 3 Marine Marvels with different objectives: Cosmetic (4 map fragments), Buff (9), Extreme Cosmetic (25). This change makes it simpler, but perhaps not easier to obtain.
How to prepare for the Fishing Update?
It's impossible to know exactly what the next chapter will bring with 100% certainty, as changes can occur. However, as it has already been announced that it will be related to fishing, and related content such as composters that make bait, and treasures like crab, one way to prepare is to obtain items related to this content.
The first items are the most basic, which can be obtained from the crafting NPC on your island: compost bins. The first two are very useful and more accessible than the third, which costs 50 gold.
From the Compost Bin you get basic bait (earthworm) and fertilizer for the crops;
Turbo Composter is a bit more expensive, but still affordable, and provides fertilizer for fruit plots and a medium bait (grub).
Premium Composter gives you fertilizer used for advanced crops as it reduces time by 50% and also the last bait, Red Wiggler.
Next we have the NFTs that give buffs related to fishing. Several NFTs can be obtained by completing achievements, such as the Angler Wader which gives +10 fishing attempts, Bucket O’worms which gives +1 worm, and Sunflower Rod which gives a 10% chance of +1 fish. These achievement NFTs cannot be traded, but they are free; you just need to complete the requirements. Then there are some tradable NFTs on the marketplace, such as the Reelmaster’s chair which gives +5 fishing attempts and some NFTs that guarantee +1 fish in specific seasons, but since many are starting to look for these NFTs, the prices may be higher now, so be careful!
Questions: What will remain from Fishing?
This Sunflower Lands fishing update raises some questions about how some of the old fishing mechanics will work. Will they be changed or will they remain the same? One of these questions concerns fishing achievements. Will the achievements be reset? Because it would end up affecting those who are trying to complete them, for example, those trying to get the "Master Angler" tier need to catch 1500 fish to access the Trident NFT reward, which guarantees a 20% chance of getting +1 fish.

Principais Novidades do Fishing Update
O próximo capítulo do Sunflower Lands parece que terá relação com pescaria, e no github do jogo foram divulgados algumas das possíveis mudanças que viram para a pescaria. Dentre as principais mudanças, a primeira será no próprio mini-game que vai se chamar Turbulent Water, em que você terá que levar o seu peixe até o superfície selecionado o caminho correto, sendo que será possível utilizra várias varas de pesca de uam vez.
Em seguida, vai haver uma nova contrução em que os jogadores poderam trocar peixe por Fish Flakes, Fish Sticks e Fish Oil, que vão ser usados para conseguir alguns peixes específicos de forma garantida. Talvez ter alguns desses peixes guardados pode ser interessente, mas como será implementado um sistema “Freshness” em que pode trocar alguns peixes por esses recursos em dias específicos, pode não compensar tê-los guardados.

Como se preparar para o Fishing Update?
