Should you hunt all the airdrops?

A few days ago, I came across a post for farming the airdrop. I am not against farming the airdrop, and in the end, who does not love the free money, but not all the airdrops are worth farming. Actually, these are not the airdrop also, in fact, these are the schemes that are encapsulated as airdrop. I will say that if you are sharing your data, bandwidth, or computing power for getting some tokens is not actually an airdrop instead you are trading your data, bandwidth, or computing power for their tokens.

Now, someone can argue that even if this is not an airdrop but they are still able to earn some money for trading their unused data, bandwidth, or computing power. So it is still a win situation for the user. In my opinion, this is not a win situation, but can be a risky situation that can invite lot of problems as follows.

1. Security Concerns.

Sharing the data, internet bandwidth, or computing resources with external application is risky. We do not know if these app might have an ulterior motive or if the user with whom you share it has an ulterior motive. I have never used these sharing services but I do not have a good feeling for them as I think it can compromise both privacy of the system along with security concerns.

2. Laptop heating issues

When I joined the crypto space, I used to claim faucets earlier. I observed that there were some faucets that had a captcha, and it caused the my laptop CPU to spike and generate heat. I believe that it had impacted my laptop. In this case , I am not even "explicitly" sharing anything with them. I am just wondering what can happen to laptop/computer if we are willing to share the computing power.

3. Legal issues.

I am not sure if a legal issue occurs or if some illegal activity is performed using your data or internet bandwidth, then how will you be able to defend yourself? Or how you will be able to catch that culprit? Since it is your "resources" and I am sure law will blame you.

4. Fair and timely Compensation.

I am not sure that you will get the timely and fair compensation. Since they are saying it airdrop, I guess it will be airdropped later on. It look like more of a waiting game, and who knows, even if you are able to earn something

5. Will the token hold its value in the future?

It's uncertain whether the earned token will gain more value or maybe they lose value in the future. I guess it can both hit or miss. What if, if you do not reach the "withdraw threshold" on the platform? What if platform do not allow you to cash out your earnings? There can be other issue like asking for KYC when you want to cash out.

I am sure that we should not be chasing these airdrops, and like to know if someone participates in it and has positive views for it.
