Do we need 10 minutes food delivery?

I do not know in which part of the world is this possible to get a cooked meal delivered to your home in 10 minutes from the time you have placed the order. This has beaten the "30 minute Pizza delivery" by a huge margin. I am not sure how the restaurant is making it possible to cook the food, pack the food and deliver the food in 10 minutes at the doorsteps. How is the time divided for each task for the food to be delivered to the doorsteps in such a short time?

What I understand from the available data, in this model customer ordering location and restaurant that will serve the order is very crucial and generally, it is within the radius of 2 KM. Rider/delivery person gets 8 minutes to deliver the order and the restaurant gets 2 minutes to prepare and pack the order. Even the famous "2 minute maggi" requires 2 minutes or more to be cooked with precondition that water is already in boiling state, So how come restaurants can prepare, pack and handle the food to the rider in just 2 minutes.

Is 2 minute sufficient ?

Is really a restaurant can cook and pack food in 2 minutes?, Actually no. For this , menu is limited to few the items and these items are prepared in advance. Restaurants are using the analytics on past data to understand the "expected" demand of today to prepare and pack the order in advance. So this menu mostly comprises of the junk food which is prepared or precooked in advance for delivery.

Service gets crazy in metro cities.

This service is getting popular in metro cities where people like to have their hands on their food in just 10 minutes. Companies are charging Platform fees and as well as service fees and earning nice profits in delivering the food in 10 minutes.

My 2 cents.

All I see more loss and less benefits of this service to the end user as
menu item in the food will be the junk food and that is also precooked. No idea if there can be severe health impact also for eating this food daily. For the metro cities where a single traffic light can run for more than 2 minutes, I guess it makes a lot of stress on the delivery rider to deliver it in 10 minutes. It is also one of the reasons that you see the delivery riders in such a hurry and sometimes jumps the traffic signals too.

We have a very famous saying that translates to that "Person earns to eat well" but in this case, it looks to me that person earns for eating "junk" and pays for the "services" instead of the quality of food.
