We're always quick to think we're the worst in the space, when other places are actually packaging their strength and hiding their flaws, it makes us think that it's perfect out there.

That's exactly what I meant when I was replying to @mypathtofire's comment :)

As for YouTube, I feel that it's mostly only 10% of people who actually start with the intent of making money that actually makes good money, the rest don't, because it's actually difficult.

But, I wouldn't say that all of them succeed (those 10% with an idea to make money)... It's not easy on any platform, and probably max 5% of those succeed... Or even less...

It's super difficult to build, if you ask me, but it doesn't mean that it's impossible. The sacrifice sometimes doesn't seem to be worth it, unfortunately it goes on to be worth it for those that continues.

...and I suppose it depends on expectations and the definition of "success" is different for everyone...
