But since it was urgent, I didn't really have time to look at all the monitors. I didn't need anything special, it just had to have a DisplayPort. Otherwise, I didn't want to waste time doing extensive research and maybe lose another day. Then there was the price and energy efficiency.

Despite searching, there was only one with a B rating, all the others had an E. Which should be a big difference. So I didn't hesitate and ordered it.

Of course, besides the size, there was something else that I noticed when I unpacked and set it up.

Unfortunately, the monitor is not height-adjustable :(

My old DELL was easily adjustable in height thanks to its base. So what now? I ordered a table mount, an arm that I screw to the tabletop and attach the monitor to.

As you can imagine, the problems continue. Monitors come with the standard VESA 75 and VESA 100, rarely VESA 200. This means that the holes are 75, 100, or 200 mm apart and are usually M4.

Unfortunately, there is no standard for the depth :(

The mount came with two types of screws and spacers, but they were all too long for my monitor :(

I decided to check my Dell and lo and behold, there are screws there when you remove the monitor from the base. It is hooked in and can be released at the push of a button.

I took out the screws and lo and behold, they are shorter than the ones supplied. But if it were that simple, I wouldn't have written this post, would I?

Right! Because even these shorter screws were still too long for my monitor, 2 mm I estimate.

Well, today I went to the hardware store and hope I got the right ones. I'll report back tomorrow if I feel like testing it.

Da es aber dringend war, habe ich nicht wirklich Zeit gehabt, mir die ganzen Monitore anzugucken. Etwas Besonderes brauchte ich nicht, lediglich sollte es einen Displayport haben. Ansonsten wollte ich nicht Zeit mit langer Recherche verplempern und vielleicht noch einen Tag verlieren. Da war dann der Preis ein Faktor und dann die Energieeffizienz.

Trotz suchen gab es nur einen mit B, alle anderen hatten E. Was wohl schon ein großer Unterschied sein sollte. Daher nicht lang gefackelt und bestellt.

Natürlich hätte es neben der Größe die passte noch etwas gegeben, was mir beim Auspacken und Aufstellen dann aufgefallen war.

Der Monitor ist leider nicht verstellbar in der Höhe :(

Wollte dann einmal bei meinem Dell nachschauen und siehe da, dort sind Schrauben vorhanden, wenn man den Monitor vom Fuß abnimmt. Dieser ist eingehackt und kann mit einem Knopfdruck gelöst werden.

Habe die Schrauben herausgenommen und siehe da, diese sind kürzer als die mitgelieferten. Aber wenns so einfach wäre, hätte ich doch diesen Beitrag nicht erstellt, oder?

Richtig! Denn auch diese kürzeren Schrauben waren noch zu lang für meinen Monitor, 2 mm schätze ich.

Tja heute war ich im Baumarkt und hoffe die richtigen geholt zu haben. Ich werde morgen berichten, falls ich Lust habe es zu testen.
