Hello dear community,

I recently bought a new PC, but it didn't have WiFi and
my network socket wasn't working.

I then used an old cell phone as a “WiFi stick” and ran a cable across the house.

Last week, I bought an LSA crimping tool to redo it, hoping that one of the cables was no longer making proper contact.

When I opened the socket, I realized that the cable was not as I had hoped.

It was supposed to have the colors orange, brown, green, and blue, plus one white in each. In some cables, the white is combined with the corresponding color, so it's not completely white.

But look at the picture above to see what colors I had. Brown, blue, red, yellow, green, and three whites.

So, which white belongs to which cable?

Luckily, my father is equipped with all kinds of tools. He came by today with a voltage tester. I simply clamped two wires together and we tested the other end in the other box, which looks like this:

What are the chances of me succeeding? I actually clamped together exactly these pairings as shown in the photo above. So blue and yellow, then exactly the right white with the red, exactly the right white with the brown, and it also worked with the green.

I only opened the other box afterwards. And if you compare the two pictures, you will see that they are not identical. The assignment was different, so no wonder it didn't work.

Now it works, but unfortunately I only get just under 100 Mbit in the download speed test, even though I currently have a 500 Mbit connection. I've also tested all the cables, and even when I connect them to the PC via the switch and the long cable I've laid through the house, I still only get around 500 Mbit.

So there's still something wrong with the socket :( I can live with 100 Mbit for now, but it's still annoying.

ich hatte mir vor kurzem einen neuen PC gekauft, der aber kein WLAN hatte und
meine Netzwerkdose funktionierte nicht.

Ich hatte mir dann mit einem alten Handy ausgeholfen als "WLAN-Stick" und dann mit einem Kabel quer durchs Haus.

Ich hatte mir dann letzte Woche ein LSA-Auflegwerkzeug gekauft, um das einmal neu zu machen in der Hoffnung, dass ein Kabel nicht mehr richtig Kontakt hatte.

Als ich die Dose dann aufgemacht hatte, musste ich feststellen, dass das Kabel nicht so war wie erhofft.

Eigentlich sollt es die Farben Orange, Braun, Grün und Blau haben und dann noch jeweils ein Weißes dazu. Bei manchen Kabeln ist das Weiße dann mit der entsprechenden Farbe noch kombiniert, also nicht ganz weiß.

Aber seht oben auf dem Bild, welche Farbe ich nun hatte. Braun, Blau, Rot,Gelb, Grün und drei Weiße.

Ach du Scheiße dachte ich, das wird lustig, denn wie vermutet, als ich es ganz abgeklemmt hatte und vom ausreichend langen Kabel (zum Glück war es in der Dose genug gelassen worden) ein Stück Mantel abgemacht hatte, sah ich das diese nicht gepaart waren (wie hier). Also, welches Weiß gehört zu welchem Kabel?

Zum Glück ist mein Vater mit allem möglichen an Werkzeug ausgestattet. Er kam heute mit einem Spannungsprüfer vorbei. Ich habe einfach jeweils zwei Drähte zusammengeklemmt und wir haben am anderen Ende, in der anderen Dose getestet, die so aussieht:

Wie hoch ist die Chance, dass ich das schaffe? Ich habe tatsächlich genau diese Paarungen so zusammengeklemmt wie auf dem Foto oben. Also Blau und Gelb und dann genau das richtige Weiße mit dem Roten, genau das richtige Weiße mit dem Braunen und auch beim Grünen hatte es gepasst.

Ich hatte die andere Dose erst danach aufgemacht. Und wenn ihr die beiden Bilder nun vergleicht, werdet Ihr sehen, dass diese nicht identisch sind. Die Belegung war unterschiedlich, also kein Wunder, dass es nicht ging.

Jetzt geht es zwar, aber leider erhalte ich im Download bei Speedtest, nur knapp unter 100 Mbit, dabei habe ich aktuell eine 500er Leitung. Habe auch jetzt alle Kabel getestet, auch wenn ich diese über den Switch und dem ewig langen Kabel, das ich durchs Haus gelegt habe, mit dem PC verbinde, erhalte ich gut 500 Mbit.

Also stimmt an der Dose etwas immer noch nicht :( erstmal kann ich mit den 100 Mbit leben, aber es ist schon blöd.
