Ripple Network Resumes Operations After Short Downtime

The XRP Ledger has resumed normal operations after an outage of about an hour yesterday, February 4, without any loss of user funds, according to developers.

David Schwartz, CTO of Ripple, explained that the outage halted the creation of new ledgers at block number 93,927,173, affecting the network’s ability to process and record transactions.

While some network components such as consensus mechanisms continued to operate, the core process of adding new ledgers was temporarily halted.

Developers and network verifiers worked to implement a technical fix and restore operations from the last confirmed ledger.

Schwartz noted that the network recovered automatically thanks to its self-correcting properties, as most UNL operators did not make any major changes.

The XRPL team confirmed that they are currently investigating the root cause of the issue, noting that the network’s built-in safeguards helped detect the glitch and prevent inconsistent ledgers, keeping assets secure.

It is noteworthy that this incident comes after a similar outage last November that lasted for 10 minutes due to a malfunction that affected a number of nodes.
