Bitwise CEO - 2025 Might Be Year of Corporate Bitcoin Adoption

The CEO of Bitwise Asset Management, Hunter Horsley thinks that 2025 may be pivotal year for corporate Bitcoin adoption. He expressed optimism on social media, sharing "It feels like 2025 will be a big year for new corporates adopting the Bitcoin Standard".

This comes in light of recent filing by Bitwise for an ETF designed to track firms with significant Bitcoin holdings, specifically those with at least 1,000 Bitcoin on their balance sheets.

The current situation indicates that corporate adoption of Bitcoin has remained relatively stagnant, despite this optimistic outlook. As of now, only 22 companies own more than $1,000 BTC, with MicroStrategy standing out as a prominent leader in this field.

Other companies like Tesla, which had previously ignited expectations of broader adoption through it's remarkable purchase in 2021 have not followed suit.

Furthermore, a recent proposal by Microsoft shareholders to assess Bitcoin investments was overwhelmingly turned down, highlighting the continued skepticism of corporate executives about Bitcoin's viability as a store of value.

Bitwise's ETF aims to include companies meeting specific criteria: a market capitalization of at least $100 million and average daily liquidity of no less than $1 million. This initiative is expected to work as a catalyst for increased corporate management with Bitcoin. However, according to Analysts, corporate adoption may face challenges, as only a small fraction of CFOs currently view Bitcoin favorably.
