Some misconceptions about hive (my first days on hive)
This is an era where everyone wants to be empowered financially. Well, who doesn't like good things? I really want to be in that situation where I can buy whatever I want without looking at my bank account. Live that kind of sweet soft life you know? My quest to make some good money for myself made me join hive. I thought it would bring me a lot of money just like I was told. But unfortunately it ended up not being what I thought at first
My misconceptions
I thought hive was a get rich quick platform. Honestly, when I first heard about hive that was the first thing that came to my mind. I had thought about the plenty things I will buy with my first money. I started seeing myself swimming already in money even when I hadn't started. It is funny now but then, it wasn't at all because i saw myself in that reality. I am sure so many persons fell into this imagination at first when they heard about hive.
I thought hive would be easy. Is it easy to make money? No. When they told me it was all about writing contents, I laughed. I asked if it was just that and I got a "Yes" response. In my head, it was so easy to write stories. Truth be told, writing is not easy. Sometimes I stay away for as long as one month because I don't even know what to write. And sometimes even when I know what to write, constructing it becomes a big problem. It took me a long time to finally understand myself and gradually embrace hive and understand how it works too.
A lot of persons especially newbies are just like me. Hive is a beautiful place to be in. And if you want to make money, this is also the place you need to be. But understand that making money here doesn't come as fast as you want. You need to:
- Understand how hive works
- Create a niche for yourself
- Follow people and leave good comments on their posts (this here means socializing)
- Upvote posts
- Delegate to communities
- Power up your tokens
- Don't plagiarize
These are few that I know. You can add more things that people especially newbies should know and do here on hive.

I also had that mindset too when I first joined hive platform. Hive it's not a get rich quick platform. It requires your dedication, consistency etc. Don't not always think because you see people make about $100 within 1hr in just a post , then you think it's pretty much easy. It took most of then years of steady grinding, dedication and consistency to get to that point. And also don't not just post for just the money you'll earn, have passion for it.Keep that in mind.

This was actually what attracted me to hive. I thought I would get same rewards. Unfortunately it wasn't that way and I stopped writing for a long time. But I am glad I have finally overgrown that stage now. I have come to love hive more and more
Heh heh Hive is definitely a great place to earn money in the long run and above all it's a great investment.
However, we must devote time and effort to it as in everything else it will not bear any fruit.
I agree that hive is a great investment. The profits will definitely yield in the future. All we need to do is understand the nitty-gritty and be patient while being very active.

hi, @joydukeson it will help those newbies that have the same mindset about "hive". I also have the same mental state back then, but after staying here for almost 6 mos now I've realized that hive is all about consistency and perseverance, and engagement.
Nothing comes easy, you gotta have to work hard. And this platform teaches me to be.
I agree with this notion. I ran away at first because I couldn't keep up with writing contents. And even when I managed to write, I got nothing in return. It got me depressed for a long while until I sat down one day and decided to just engage. That was how I started loving hive again.
Yeah, consistency is the key.
Hi dear, it happens to most of us because we probably saw someone cashed out that peaked our interest into joining, you have stated well the do's to do well on hive, also creating quality contents.
We all at some point thought hive would be easy. We thank God for growth and we believe that we will continue to grow.

I mean who doesn't want plenty cash to solve needs but unfortunately it's not so in hive...just like the tips you have listed, one must follow it for a better growth here
It's just like a farmer who planted a seed, he gat to water the plant ☘️ always, and remove weeds when needed for a better harvest.
