Let's have a little bit of fun today :)
I'm going to write a quick post about how I think any application on this blockchain can turn a new member of their platform, into a thriving passionate community member.
This isn't limited to any one application, in fact any community based here can benefit from it....
Have you ever heard of AIDA?
It's an old school marketing acronym that stands for:
Attention
Interest
Desire
Action
The concept is, you grab a potential clients attention, which leads to interest in your product or service. Then when your marketing takes hold, they develop a desire to purchase it. Finally the action is taken and you are now a successful marketer and salesperson.
Ta-da! It's that simple lol
While there is much more to it, I wanted to switch things up a bit for us here on chain, and see if there is something we can create to strategize as we use the social tools available to us.
The blockchain after all, has it's social elements built right in. So the product, or the hook can be whatever the application is 'selling' to it's members and users.
Rewards, community, sense of belonging, real #web3 use case, whatever their MVP is.
This is the angle I think we can use here:
Attention - Obviously, everything starts here. Design, advertising, marketing, awareness...Without people actually knowing your stuff exists, well...Don't even bother to move onto the next step.
Interaction - Here's where the blockchain really shines. I see it a lot on InLeo, when a new member joins the community floods their comments with warm greetings and open arms. This is HUGE. It encourages the new community member to reciprocate the interaction and return it. This gives them a sense of belonging which is crucial for the next step...
Retention - How many people have come and gone here over the years? I believe this can be fixed by those first two steps. The marketing through generating attention will keep people engaged. They won't want to feel like they are missing out, and if people are interacting with them every day....They will stick around. It's guaranteed!
Conversion - And finally, the biggest issue with any blockchain is educating new members and get them comfortable with all the applications and tools. I believe this takes time and if people leave after a few weeks, we miss a huge opportunity. The conversion happens with everything mentioned above and the time needed to turn a new fresh member of the community...Into a blockchain evangelist!
Is this a guaranteed formula for success?
There are plenty of variables, but I do believe this blockchain excels at something no one one can brag about and that's the social side....
Interaction will retain members. And when they feel valued, they will stick around. They will dig in deeper. They will become raving fans of everything we have here and will build in the future!

I'm trying something where I'm holding people's hand through the interaction and retention stages. I show them the ropes on how to do stuff and explain as much as I can without overwhelming them, and hopefully they'll stick around after that.
This approach is obviously still in testing.
Legendary sir!
Appreciate you and would love to gt you on the podcast soon!
Let's do it! Reaching out on Discord. This is my project:

I like the "C" in there for "Conversion," for those seeking to convert at least some of their gains into desired outcomes, whether that be local currency, tangible goods, services, etc.
While it's great to interact with everyone here, which builds rapport and encourages me to stay because of the relationships formed, I also want to convert some of the Hive I've earned into physical gold and silver. The more people see that they can earn from creating, interacting, curating, and end up with something they want as a result of their efforts, the higher likelihood they'll join and stay.
This is coming from someone who was born into web1, witnessed the birth of web2 and built up a sizable audience on X, and was introduced to Hive by @bitcoinman. Initially I rejected it when researching it, but came back to the idea and decided to give it a try because he helped me through the process and has continued to be a great friend and mentor.
I got plugged into a community (Silver Gold Stackers) of fellow gold and silver stackers, who were unbelievably welcoming, helpful and generous, and I haven't looked back since. In fact, my interaction on X, Reddit and Telegram has significantly dropped because I enjoy it far more here.
Love hearing how welcoming communities can be. Especially the silver and gold community. One day, I'll stop being lazy and dive more into that community lol
The invitation is always open. 😁
More and more fans can be attracted through good interaction when a new member is being welcomed to the community and is being thought the art of Blogging this will make him to stay-put and start interacting with others, from there the Retention process happens.
It's such an easy way to generate raving fans!
I think we need to leave the earning crypto part out and focus more on the community aspect. When people gather together around a common interest it can be a powerful thing.
That was the old Steem tag line....Come for the rewards, stay for the community....Maybe the other way around is a better angle lol
I honestly think it is. We bring people in for the wrong reasons and they can't handle the nuances of it. If that becomes a secondary thing, I think it will foster longevity.
Help them find small supportive communities like #bloom
Otherwise many small accounts have trouble being found.
They are like a tree falling in the forest.
If there’s no one to hear it, does it make a sound?
sooooo true!
once someone taps into a community and feel a part of it, they will stick around!
My thoughts exactly.
I want new people to avoid that feeling of being alone, in a sea of accounts.
And I want them to experience the thrill of comments and earnings, even if they are small, at first.
This is a good outline of Hive issues
Attention
Interaction
Retention
Conversion
Now I need to see if I can design a community around these problems, as a solution.
#bloom
Bam!!!! Awesome stuff!
Interaction is the key. It is always the key for any platform to grow and to get more audience
So easy to do, we just need more of it!
It's definitely a good strategy but it's definitely hard to get people through all the steps. There is a place for everything now that we have threads, games and etc here on Hive. It's just that the marketing doesn't seem to go that far.
They hit snags as soon as they try to set things up. It's not the easiest customer experience lol
Interaction is definitely a key part of marketing. Engagement will give users something to relate or resonate with, which will have them coming back for it or build something about it.
It's huge! I think that builds the loyalty you need to create strong relationships with brands.
I love the fact that you mentioned about desire. Anyone who is really interested will show it. I have cases where I have invited so many people to Hive but they still stop after a while even though I explain to them how beneficial this platform is
For sure. If people dont actually want to be here, they will leave and we lose a potential long term community member.
All people have been working on this technology for a long time and now it is the responsibility of all of us to spread this technology to other people so that they can also benefit from it.
Agreed. Easier onboarding will go a long way as well.
Yeah you are right.
