We need to change Hive's twitter approach

I think the way I consume Hive content is unorthodox and it may come as a surprise to users coming from western hemisphere, that reddit-like structure isn't suited for everyone.

I know I have been shaped by polish iteration of digg called wykop, but it's the most convenient way for me to stay up to date with people and topics I am interested in.

The way I consume

To keep things simple, I use tags and have bookmarks in every browser (like hive.blog/created/polish). This helps me stay up to date with every post that has #polish tag. I really wish interfaces and apps would introduce tags subscription.

Twitter introduced topics

These tooics work like tags, not like Hive's communities (or reddit rooms) and aggregate tweets with certain keywords.
Yes keywords, not tags. Musk once told he doesn't like tags because nobody uses them and recently I noticed that on my 'For you' tab there's not a single post with tags in it.

I run the twitter account of Polish Hive community and the recent changes made me think we need to reconsider how we are sharing Hive things on X.
As for now, due to set of rules introduced by @acidyo, a majority of Hive posts look like the following

https://x.com/HivePolish/status/1806282166701003086

https://x.com/EvelynChacin/status/1806283210126496200

https://x.com/cryptoshots_nft/status/1806712921352733126

IMHO this means we need to stop using tags because they might damage the tweet's reach as organic and promoted content is not using tags at all.

Before the Twitter became the X, we had the ability to check the account analytics. Analysing the results made me think that the best results for reaching audience was to 'jump into a train' of the current topic and troll. The mere sharing Hive posts was and still is, useless. Jumping in the current of events is controversial though. Because some people might associate your troll message with Hive's one - and I have already got some criticism over that.

We need to figure out the way to promote Hive on other platforms or how to reinforce the message of our Twitter 'celebrities'.

Let's have a debate on it. If you have any idea how to share Hive on current X please share

In my view a good way to promote Hive on X is to put good Hive posts/content onto X. Like a crosspost. People will see it and jump into the Hive link. That drives traffic into our ecosystem.

Does it? It used to for sure, however me and other colleagues who share Hive content on Twitter claim it's not the case anymore. People don't see our posts and it's even less likely for thembto click the link

Maybe, I cannot really compare it to the early Hive days since I only joined 3 years ago and the first year wasn’t too active.
I already thought that maybe it depends these days much more on the blue hook. If you have it your content is more likely to show up to people and prioritized on X.

I find that using any tag only get interest from these communities. If I use #Splinterlands for example, people that know about or play Splinterlands will like my post or retweet it.
The decrease in activity could be due to less hive people using twitter or actively looking for posts to retweet

The restriction of Twitter api and factual closing of POSH my be the one reason for the decreased activity. However, on my Following tab on twitter I see posts with tags - so I guess tagged posts are shadowbanned in some way or another

They could be. I feel like I heard before that some tags do get shadowbanned over on Twiter/X. but I am not sure to be honest. Personally I find not using a tag gets me less to no attention.

Dear beloved Hive creator,

Coding poet Gudasol here to support you sharing your art + life on Hive.

As a fellow creator, I know how hard it is to get the word out there.

I built cXc.world to help creators like us get more support from the blockchain community + beyond.

Share your music on cXc.world, and copy the Markdown for a easy post includes embedded players for Spotify, Youtube, Soundcloud.

That way, you can earn HIVE + stack streams on centralized platforms, as they do still matter.

Not a music creator? No problem. You can still use cXc.world to find + share music you love.

What's next?

Preview the next evolution of cXc, Tetra.earth.

Expose local music from your area!

We're helping grassroots musicians, and you can too by adding their music (no sign up or WAX account required).

Bad news: Saying see you later to Hive! 👋

We didn't get the needed support to continue cXc.world on Hive, as our DHF proposal lacked votes, but [Good News Everyone] cXc.world will add a Markdown copy button, allowing you to easily share your music + music you find on Hive.

For now, we're on WAX, with tools you can use to mint your own Music/Media NFT collection.
