June Hive Power Up - Sure and Steady

I really can’t keep track any more of how fast the months are going. One second it’s the first and the next second, it’s the first again. But this time, not the same month. Regardless, the month of May passed and I can’t say I didn’t enjoy it. I did. Met new people and made awesome friends too.

It's a new month and we know what that means. Power-Up! I especially love this day because apart from showing our support to the Hive Blockchain, we also get to measure how much we’ve grown in the past month. So, I’m eager to do that measurement and also encourage myself.

And yes, I feel I’ve grown considerably, even though I didn’t reach all the goals I had for myself. At the beginning of last month, my Hive power(HP) was at 364 HP and I set my goal for this month to reach 600 HP. I guess, that wasn’t a feasible goal. But I’m almost there and I’m not beating myself up about it.

I decided to continue on the path of engaging with other writers on the Blockchain and also writing one post every day. It was hard and sometimes I said, “Fluff it, I’m not writing today.” But I’ll still end up writing. So most times my post would come through as late as 11.55 pm. Boggling right?

Anyways, my Hive Power just before I powered up was at 517HP. And that means I’ve grown by 153HP in the last month. Quite big in my books, even though it may not be considered much. And to show my support to the Blockchain and also as a means of encouraging myself, I’ve powered up 20 Hive bringing my HP to 537HP. We’re getting there. (smiles smugly)

My Goals

Content Creation

I wish I had very vivid or huge goals for June. But I’ll start by saying that I’ll try my best to keep on writing a post every day. It’s tasking and I may fail a couple of times, but I will certainly try my best. Creating quality content is tasking but I’ve come to realize from my friends that there is no competition.

Don’t make it a chore @deraaa keeps saying. “When Hive becomes a chore, you’ll begin to harbour resentment towards it. Do it without pressure, because you’re happy writing not because you’re mandated.” Really wise words that I’ll try to abide by. I would try to power up every day and maybe 650 HP in the end is feasible enough.

Engagements

I’ll also continue in tireless engagement simply because I’ve seen the blessings in it and the positive connections I’ve made over the past month. For anyone reading this that keeps doubting, you could just try it for a week and see. Profitable and keeps you grounded in a way.

Savings

This part made me more than a little elated. I did set my goal at 100HBD which was to be achieved by putting at least 1HBD in my savings every day. And I’m happy to see that I’m 8HBD short of double the amount it was this month. And maybe it could have been past that if I didn’t power some of my posts to a hundred percent. But this is growth to me and I’m going to continue on this path. Is 180HBD at the end of this month too greedy? I don’t think so.

Threading

I couldn’t participate in the Adoption Campaign as I’d have liked because of the glitches in the UI that didn’t let those using mobile thread smoothly. But Threading has become fun and addictive, even without the thought of prizes. So I’ll do well to keep threading.
