This is a short sum-up table with the state of my goals in easier TLDR form. The table has only a general overview, with details expanded in the post.
Current State/Other Selection Criterion | Goals Matching the Criterion |
---|---|
Ongoing | 4 (52-Week HBD Savings Challenge, Posting & Commenting Goal, LEO Staking, Increase Grain PP) |
Main Goals | 3 (52-Week HBD Savings Challenge, Posting & Commenting Goal, Land Plots Unlocked) |
Goals | 3 (ZING Multiplier, LEO Staking, new: Increase Grain PP) |
Main Goals Completed | 0 |
Goals Completed | 2 (ZING Multiplier, Land Plots Unlocked) |
I include a link to the initial goal-setting post for 2024, for reference, if needed.
A 52-week challenge following the popular model starts slowly and becomes increasingly more difficult with every passing week. The challenge is not at the beginning but at the end. That's why, we can use the easy start to prepare for the tougher weeks ahead.
In my case, I started with 1 HBD in week 1. This is also the step that increases the amount I need to save every week. The rule is, in my case: I need to add to savings the amount of HBD per week equal to the week number in the challenge. That means, in week 52 I'll need to save 52 HBD.
We are in the 20th week of the 52-week HBD challenge. That means I added 20 HBD to the savings for this particular goal, and reached 210 HBD, without counting the accrued interest.
Here's how things look right now:
Note: You can see there is already a small discrepancy in the totals between the spreadsheet and what is in the wallet. That is because of some approximations and easy calculations in the spreadsheet.
As you are probably aware, this weekend has been a short HIVE pump with a predictable outcome (keep in mind that pumps that happen during a general market uptrend are different!). That helped me add a little more liquidity, which will help in the long term both with this challenge and with my accumulation of HIVE.
I haven't missed a daily post this year yet. Reached 1788 posts published, with 217 left to hit the target in 2024. That puts the progress at 38% where 36.54% was needed to be in the green.
Here's the situation so far:
I haven't missed any edition of Week through Adrian's Lenses in 2024 either, and I mention this since it's also part of my posting goal. Overall, I reached the 69th edition of the weekly roundup which debuted at the beginning of 2023.
I also started the week with 18,703 comments made. Ended the week with 18817, which means I made 114 comments last week, which is above the weekly average needed to reach the comments target by the end of the year.
Nice, I'm starting to push over the comments threshold regularly (3rd week in a row).
I currently need an average of 97 comments weekly to reach the comments target by the end of the year.
My LEO stake remains at 23,800 LP, with 3k being delegated to one of the winners of the previous LPUD draw. I'm keeping LEO liquid for the next LPUD which will come in a few days.
Here's the current situation:
If I participate in the future LPUDs as before, with 200 LEO power-ups, and nothing else staked throughout the months, this goal should be completed in October.
After the 'Land Plots Unlocked' was completed last week for Splinterlands, I needed another target.
Luckily, the Splinterlands team is about to push Trade Hub for Grain-DEC, and this goal kind of became a priority of circumstances because I want to provide some liquidity to this pool.
Where do I currently stand regarding progress toward this goal?
Since it just started, it is at 0% progress, but it will slowly increase.
I may adjust this target after I have a better grasp of its evolution and how I intend to handle it because there are different ways to approach it. I need more data before deciding, so probably I'll need a couple of weeks at least.
Completed
Goal completed in Week 18, with the following situation at the time:
73 plots were productive and 27 were still under construction.
Currently, 77 plots are productive out of 100, with 23 still under construction.
Completed
Goal completed in week 10 with 25,203 ZING.
Since then, I slowly grew my stash from staking rewards only. Waiting for sales.
My ZING holdings are now at 26,132.
This was the final situation when the goal was achieved, I won't keep updating it:

Goals are the only way to intentionally grow. I was quite intentional about my HBD goals and it has helped me to pay some of my hospital bills. I need to go back to my leo goals too, I was buying before the last bull market and forgot to take profit.
@tipu curate
Upvoted 👌 (Mana: 50/60) Liquid rewards.
That's very well said! I mean, that's how it is for me, and I see it is for you too, even if, I know some people prefer to not set goals, although they are quite determined when they set their mind to something.
Ah, that was my story the last bull market, to a great extent. I took some profits, but far less than I could have, especially considering the boom Splinterlands experienced then.
Nice progress and it's good to see you working well on your comment goal.
As for the grain PP, are you trying to be self-sufficient or are you trying to build a surplus?
Thanks. Yep, I like that I'm consistently over the threshold recently. It wasn't fun to keep falling behind.
I already have some surplus every week, but if I want to contribute to the LP and maybe also get some extra DEC via Grain to boost my land plots' productivity, I'll need more.
Goodluck on the grain PP goal. I don't have land, but I remember that you need high rarity monsters to increase your PP. Are you going to buy a lot of GF epic and legendary cards?
Not sure exactly. There are different ways to do it. If there are some very cheap ones, I might buy some.
You are chugging right along, keep it up! With Leo being as expensive as it is that's an impressive stack, but it also makes buying more a little harder. Nice work!
Yep, that's the work of the past two years, mostly. This year I've taken it slowly.
I have also been watching you for a long time that you are working very hard and then the target of a person is fulfilled and success begins.
I appreciate your kind words. Hopefully, I'm also working smart(er), not only hard. Otherwise working hard can turn into a continuous grind without getting any closer to success.
The main man keeps leveling up all the time.. congratulations on all your achievements and you have set such honorable goals man. #respect #salute 🫡
Thanks.
