MetaMask Unveils New Feature Allowing Fiat Currency Purchases of Cryptocurrency

MetaMask’s new feature lets you buy crypto with fiat currency directly from its Portfolio Dapp. This is a convenient way to get crypto without leaving the platform. MetaMask is a leading cryptocurrency wallet and Dapp provider.

The feature lets you buy over 90 tokens with various payment methods. You can use debit or credit cards, PayPal, bank transfers, or instant ACH.

The feature supports eight networks: Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Binance Smart Chain, Avalanche Contract Chain, Fantom, Optimism and Celo.

Users in over 189 countries can use the feature.
The feature is available when you link your wallet to the Portfolio Dapp or press the “Buy” button in the MetaMask extension wallet. Then select your region, payment method, token and network. The feature will give you a customized quote for each purchase based on your location and local regulations. After selecting a quote, go to a third-party provider’s website to complete the transaction. The funds will go directly to your MetaMask wallet.

MetaMask has also worked with several organizations to help new users join its platform. In 2022, MetaMask and PayPal partnered to let MetaMask users buy and transfer Ether (ETH) via PayPal’s platform. Users can buy and transfer ETH from PayPal to MetaMask by logging onto their Mobile MetaMask app. This takes them to their PayPal account to finish transactions. MetaMask also added MoonPay on March 21 to let Nigerians buy crypto with instant bank transfers. This feature provides a simpler and cheaper way to buy crypto without using credit or debit cards.
