I've been talking about bad habits and how to let go of them, but what I mentioned in my previous post may not work for everyone. We're all different and our level of addiction varies. Some of us have a deeper connection to our bad habits, so it's a struggle to let go. We can't just drop our habits because we'll feel lonely and may end up returning to them. That's why we need to plan how to replace them with something better and healthier. How we can replace them with something better and something healthier?
Replacing bad habits can be difficult because I was once like that. There was a time when I used to buy 4-5 packs of bread every week and I would finish them. Sometimes I would even buy more, not because I used the bread for meals, but just to snack on them. I love snacking on a particular bread called sardine bread in Nigeria, but I realized I had to stop this bad habit. I replaced my bad habit of snacking on bread with nuts. Instead of buying a lot of bread, I eliminated bread and replaced it with nuts. The mistake many people make is not replacing their bad habits with something better.
replace it
When you try to break free from a bad habit, simply avoiding it may not be enough. Many people become bored and end up returning to their bad habits. In some cases, people even develop new bad habits as a replacements. There's a saying that goes "An idle man is the devil's workshop," and when we feel lonely, it becomes challenging to stay on the right path. After leaving a bad habit, it's important to quickly replace it with something better. This can help us completely forget about our bad habits.
When I was trying to replace my bad habit, I tried several things but none of them worked because none of them gave me the satisfaction that bread normally does. That's why I struggled in the beginning. Then I found a nut that instantly filled the void. People often make the mistake of thinking they can replace their bad habit with anything, but if the replacement isn't better, you might end up returning to the bad habit out of boredom or yearning for the old feeling.
It is not a magic
It is easy to go back to our bad habits when we do not replace them with another thing we enjoy. Most people get into bad habits in the first place because they are idle or they are just trying new and end up getting addicted to it. We mustn't go back to our lonely state when we stop a habit, we must replace it it something healthier and better, so that It can easily make us forget our old habits. We must remember fleeing alone might not do the job, we must replace it to win over a bad habit.
Thanks for your time.
