I am an excel guy where most of my tracking is dome using the excel itself. Be it tracking the portfolio, tracking the networth, tracking the credit card and other things. I know it involves a lot 9f manual work, but again that's one time and when the system is set, we can continue using it as per our benefit.
But for portfolio management which has stocks, mutual funds, etf I would suggest Google finance app or website. Google finance gives you clean UI to track your entire portfolio and thus help you in making better decision. I use different brokers for different investment type. I use Zerodha for Swing Trading, Groww for long term investment, Zerodha for Minor IPO account etc. And along with that I use different fund house to invest in the Mutual fund. Now this makes all my investment scattered across platform.
What Google Finance does is that, it help me to keep everything in one place as a poetolfio. I can look into it and find out what's happening in my portfolio rather than going to different places. You just have to create portfolio, add your investments and you are done. You can see the breakdown of your investments, the diversification, the news as well as long term value increase. And along with that you can see how it is performing monthly, yearly and more.
So I feel if you are not doing much transactions and keeping a portfolio for long term then having thar data in Google finance is a great tool to visualize everything at one place rather than go and looking at different places. I have created the video where I have shown how I can create the portfolio and what are some of the features it has. Please watch it and let me know what you think.
