Memberships and Offers are Great Sometimes

We mostly order food from outside and take the most common route that is going through the Zomato or Swiggy (these 2 are the top food aggregators in India) and then delivering it whetever we feel like eating. Now the problem is if we want to eat something really quick as well as the amount is small, these will not work because they charge delivery as well as packaging charge.

So I was searching for options. This is where the membership comes into picture. There is a Swiggy One membership which is a 3 months service where you do not have to pay for the delivery charge. But the only problem is you have to order above Rs 149 to get this offer.

Also there is one which is newly added to the list is EatClub where the number of restaurants is less. But still with the membership which is only Rs 99 for the whole year. You will get free delivery and free packaging. The best part is there is no minimum order to avail this offer.

I think this is a great way of a earning model where you get some service fee upfront from the user and then give them the benefit. I know there will be some who will order more and more to avail the service which is quite good for the company and there will be some who will not avail much of the service and that is again beneficial for the company.

For the user it is a win and win situation if he orders quite frequently from online because he do not have to give extra money everytime he orders. In my case I have taken the EatClub membership to see how it goes, because sometimes I carve for small amount of food and no one can delivers thar without asking me too much money. But with this I can try out those without burning a hole in my pocket.
