Another scam technique has been detected on Bybit P2p

The bad people will not let us know the good ones who genuinely need help... some people are fond of playing the pity card to gain sympathy from others, so they can scam them.

I wanted to do some withdrawal on Bybit, and then the merchant tried to play a smart one on me, but I was able to see through his scheme.

I will share the screenshot of our conversation and how he could have scammed me successfully if I hadn't used my brain when my heart was already falling for his trick.

His terms and condition looks somehow too, no point in putting you are an elderly man, no one cares if you are are an elderly man or a baby, it is the way you address those trading with you that will determine your maturity and my instinct tells me, it is a young guy operating the account.

This scammer was supposed to pay me #57,581, but he sent a message begging that he only has 56050 naira to pay because he doesn't have the full amount in his bank, that was the first hint that made me doubt him because as a merchant, how can you be trading without the money in your account especially when you are trading with many people, that does not make sense.

He didn't even plan his scam words well; he made a mistake. When I refused, he read his message again and corrected himself, saying he meant to type 57k, which would be dashing him 500 Naira, but still I was not ready to leave a dime for him.

My instinct tells me he was lying, but my heart tells me to confirm it, so I clicked his ad to check his review, I navigated to the bad review left by others, and that was where I got the evidence I needed.

There is no other evidence needed to prove my instinct was right; he has been going around telling others the same pathetic story of not having enough funds to pay them.

If you read the last user review, the scammer would be making a lot of money daily, scamming people. Imagine scamming 10 to 20 people daily; that is a huge amount at the end of the month.

Some people would tell him to pay the amount, probably they are in haste and not ready for a drama, some might tell him to pay because they felt the 500 and 1000 Naira he deducted is small compared to the amount he is paying them and by the time he did it to many people, he will be having a fat account at the end of the day.

I threw politeness to the wind and made him realize I know he is a scammer, and also threatened him with an appeal. The appeal threat works on all of them because the moment they hear the appeal, they stop whatever prank or scam they are trying to do and do the needful immediately.

Don't let them guilt-trip you, make sure you collect all your money with sparing a dime, not even 50 Naira, because some will ask if they can deduct 100 Naira because of the bank ish and other lame excuses... As long as others are not doing it and making their profit, they should stop being greedy, too.

Lastly, whenever you are in doubt, just check the merchant review and everything will be clear to you.

Good morning bro. Did i hear him said he has the full money?🤣😁

He is into that lifestyle of taking with pity, wouldn't it good if he come out direct?

But the way he wants to make his money isn't good, he is into buying of tokens already, which i believe he will still make the money he wants.

But using pity to take from people, might even bring down his business.

Suddenly, he has all the money. There is no way to come out direct because it is like starting a business and telling your customers you do not have the goods they want but they should give you small money out of what they want to use to buy the goods, it is better to just go and sit on the street and start begging for alms.

This guys are all over the place and honestly if you're not careful they'll just make away with your money. It wasn't as bad as this with Binance P2P. It's crazy to see that even people with check market on Bybit can still be scammers.

That person want to make money by playing sympathy trick. I think when it comes to business there should not be any sympathy.
