My original plan had always revolved around selling vouchers to buy Splinterlands credits but I've decided to revise that plan for another venture.
Note that while vouchers will no longer be needed to buy packs during the general sale, you still need vouchers for the bonus packs. My plan is to buy about 250 packs, which makes me eligible for 25 bonus packs, so that means I'll need 25 vouchers.
As it stands now, I won't be able to make 25 vouchers from the double booster packs, so that will be augmented through the market. So, yep, while making fun of the fact that vouchers are meant for dumping, I'm going to be taking a plunge at the voucher market.
I'm feeling very confident about this general sale and I reckon I'll find something awesome in the packs.
Other than Dr. Blight, there are other Chaos legion legendary gold foils that cost upwards of $400. If my luck strikes out and I manage to score two or three of these, I'll be more than compensated for my investment.
Other than the legendaries, there are also some decent epic gold foil cards that could add decent value to my deck. My hope is that I'll be able to pull out some decent monsters from the pack.
I've decided that I'll be opening 60 packs initially and giving away 10 packs. The ten packs are basically bonus packs that I'll receive from buying 100 packs at one go.
With some luck on my side, the 300 cards I find inside the 60 packs will involve some gold foils and other awesome cards.
My lofty dream is that I'll be able to pull awesome rewards that will cover for the entire expenditure to buy packs and potions.
Right now, I've already invested a little under $100 on potions for opening 60 packs. If things go according to plan, I will be in a very solid position after opening packs.
Beyond opening the 60 packs, I intend to hodl the remaining 195 packs from the 250 packs purchase. I'll hold them for as long as possible, especially because the packs will add to my SPS airdrop.
While holding the packs, I'll also keep an eye on market activity to ensure that I capitalise on opportunities to get out maximum value from the packs.
How I see it, most of the packs will be bought out pretty fast during the general sale, so there will be some level of scarcity in the long run.
If we were to go buy the procession of Untamed, Beta, and Alpha packs, then we can expect CHaos Legion packs to trade at a premium in the coming weeks.
Assuming I manage to hodl like 100 packs at the end of the airdrop, I think that's a success on its own.
This move is a risk and it is going to represent my biggest investment in any NFT project.
I'm betting on Splinterlands and the entire community to be successful. I have reason to believe that my faith in the project isn't a waste of my time.
The numbers speak for themselves to be honest. Splinterlands has been a riveting success overall and the numbers point at an even more exciting future.
It is a risk because I'm investing over $1k into NFTs but I honestly feel like I'll be breaking even really fast.
Nothing is set in stone and one has to risk it to make it. SO I'm taking a plunge at this project that has been largely profitable and I believe that in the long run, my effort will payout immensely.

That is the mistake I made. I bought some packs and was receiving a decent daily airdrop, I opened my packs and my airdrops were reduced by about 70%. Now I am trying to plan on buying more packs before the general sale ends. I want those airdrop points back :-D
