Closing the 2024 year with over 46,000 Hive Power staked in my wallet

I am in vacation and for quite a bit of time I simply couldn't concentrate enough to continue writing on the Hive blockchain. It was like my mind would say not to do anything, like my brain was in recovery mode and I let it be and simply got lazy with everything I had to do. And we all know that we need such periods of rejuvenation as working with out mind (both in the day to day job and also here on the Hive blockchain) in can accumulate some negative pressure in time. But as I got over this stale period, now I want to close the year with a post about where I'm ending the 2024 year - and that's with over 46,000 Hive Power staked in my wallet. This is a good number to stay on considering that the second bull run is expected to take place in 2025.

Goals for 2025

My close term goal for 2025 would be to reach 50,000 Hive Power, while my long term goal would be to reach Orca status. But in the same time if the second bull run will happen in 2025 and will take crypto market to new All Time Highs (including Hive), I might derail from this plan and grab some profits here and there. It is not that I plan for a full exit, but rather to take enough profits to come back stronger when the bear market kicks in. And it will, whether we want it or not. In the same time and while we'll see how this will unfold, I plan to be present here and continue to play my role in the Hive blockchain economy.

Play the market

Playing the market is not for everyone. If you aren't dependent of the revenue from crypto like me, you can wait and see where things take you. But even so, when you are on a good wave you might get enthusiastic enough that you might think the party will go on forever. And that's the biggest mistake all the home-made crypto traders are making it - do not take profits and once the market starts falling they will wait forever for it to recover. How do I know it? Well, I lived it for two cycle markets and I am talking from experience. Will it happen exactly the same? Probably not as we cannot predict that with all the changes and adoption that were made meanwhile but one thing is sure - it will happen. So, I am trying to prepare myself psychological in order to be able to act accordingly based on how the market moves.

Have a plan and execute it

And the only way to play the market and not fall to your emotions, I believe that it is to have a plan and execute on it. I have such a plan, I've said to myself that I will take profits whenever my assets reach previous All Time High and I can tell you that it is still hard. Some of my assets have reached ATH, but as the mirage of a stronger bull run in 2025 is converging from all social media channels, I decided to wait a little bit more on that. I have about 2 assets surpassing previous ATH from more than 10 assets that I hold and probably also that delayed me from selling. But I will wait for 2025 and see how that evolves and take action from there.

What I can say is that 2024 was a great year to continue to accumulate and even invest in some promising projects. While I have been a HODLer for 7 years, I feel that now is the moment to also take some profits. It is not about exiting the crypto space, but to play it smart in order to be able to return back and get more assets than before. And besides that also to do some optimizations in the portfolio after seeing how those are performing. I can only adapt to what's happening and I hope I will end up on the winning side. Let's see what the new year will bring for us in crypto terms and if this industry will kick into an upper gear.
