Autumn starts with falling Hive leaves that I am staking up for the Hive Power Up Day

Autumn is upon us as we are entering 1st of September 2025 and while we are all sad that the summer is leaving us, I am happing for any falling Hive leaves that get into my wallet and that I am staking for the Hive Power Up day. Not long time ago I have reached 50,000 Hive Power and I even made an article on it - I've just joined the 50k Hive Power holders club on the Hive blockchain - and now I am continuing my journey of staking more Hive on my goal to reach Orca status. While I am powering up as I progress, I don't have a big chunk prepared for HPUD, but it is good enough in order to participate and be there. And like the phrase says - It might not be much, but at least it is honest work. 😀

HPUD matters

As we all know it by now, the Hive Power Up Day (HPUD) happens every 1st of the month and is one of the biggest community driven initiatives on the Hive blockchain. It’s not just about staking Hive, but it is about participating, showing up, being consistent and proving that we’re here for the long game. When we power up, we’re basically saying: I believe in Hive and I’m putting facts above words. This collective movement makes HPUD special, because it reminds us all that Hive grows stronger when us as individuals commit in in and we come together as a community.

Small power ups add up

I know some people think you need hundreds or thousands of Hive to make a difference, but I believe that you don’t. I’ve seen accounts start with tiny power-ups every month (like I did or am still doing) and slowly climb into serious ranks over time. Even 10, 20, or 50 Hive powered up consistently will surprise you down the line. The magic is in the habit and the routing of doing it. As an OG blogger, I’ve gone through the grind and I can tell you that these little Hive leaves falling into the wallet and getting staked will one day turn into a whole Hive forest. And for this HPUD I only had 16.034 Hive liquid and I've powered it up ending with 50,111.295 Hive Power.

The perks of powering up

Besides the obvious bragging rights and the good feeling of belonging to an initiative and ecosystem, staking Hive into Hive Power brings actual utility. We get stronger voting weight for curation, meaning our upvotes reward authors more while also earning us curation rewards. We gain more influence in governance, like supporting witnesses or proposals that steer Hive in the right direction. For me it is quite satisfying watching that HP number go up and getting me closer to my goal. Not at least, it’s like a badge that shows our commitment and resilience in the blockchain jungle (HiveBuzz even grants us such participation badges which is quite cool as a gamification of the HPUD event).

This was it from my part as I am starting September with a little HPUD boost. It may not shake the rankings just yet, but it pushes me one step closer to that Orca status I’ve been chasing. Autumn feels like the perfect season for this as it is all about harvesting, gathering and preparing for the colder months that the winter brings. And what better way to do that on Hive than by stacking up Hive Power? The Hive blockchain rewards patience, persistence and grind in the long-term game. I am here to see it unfold and participate along with it.
