Hey Hive World,
I've been busy with life and finally have to write some thoughts and ideas down.
I'm taking care of a family member this week and in the spare time I have, I'm testing the capabilities of ChatGPT. ChatGPT is the AI chatbot built by OpenAI.
If you haven't experienced the chatbot yet its capabilities are out of this world. The rumors don't give it enough credit. With advanced AI in the hands of the people, the new age has begun.
As AI transforms the world, it's more important than ever to have a plan for success in this new era.
The age of AI will be a golden age for dreamers and risk-takers. But for all of us to thrive we must become better humans. We must embrace our humanity and cultivate the skills that make us valuable in a world where cold, hard logic is no longer the most coveted currency.
On Hive, we see firsthand how AI is changing the way we interact with each other and the value we place on human-generated content. People must have a plan for navigating this new world.
There’s a tremendous amount of uncertainty on Hive. ChatGPT can generate blogs in seconds based on simple prompts. It’s the collective values of the users that will determine the appropriateness of this technology.
This is going to raise some really important questions.
I'm part of Generation X and was in high school when the Internet went mainstream. When I started high school the business of school research meant making time to go to the library. Then one day the computer lab had the Internet, and school research changed overnight.
The faculty was split on the appropriateness of using the Internet for student assignments. Younger teachers in their late 20's and 30's were open-minded. Older teachers drew a hardline in the sand. My history teacher, a man in his 60s, threatened to fail any student assignment that used sources from the Internet. There wasn't a discussion about citing sources correctly, it was a binary proposal. If you got caught using the Internet you failed.
Fast forward a few decades and we can see how much attitudes have changed. It's unthinkable now for students not to have Internet access.
What caused the attitude shift was that the value of the Internet to education became more significant than the impact of cheating students. It doesn't mean the Internet's not being used to cheat, we just developed protocols to lessen its impact.
The lesson the Internet age teaches us is that it's futile trying to hold back the tide. Burying your head in the sand and denying change is doing what my history teacher did.
Regardless of the risks, we should welcome the age of AI. It’s the jet fuel that’s going to take Web3 to the stars. Cryptocurrency and Web3 need two things to survive and thrive; relevance and speed. DAOs are threats to the nation-state. For mass adoption to occur more people need to trust in DAOs than they do their governments. That means DAOs must solve real-world problems fast. Advanced AI will be key to this.
DAOs need speed to outpace and outmaneuver governments. Governments are slow to respond but they eventually do and it's usually with draconian regulation. If DAOs adopt advanced AI in mass the race is over. Regulators will never be able to catch up with the speed of development. The battles won and Bob's your uncle.
Web3 is ripe for the AI revolution. Dapps, DeFi and smart contracts are poised to take advantage of AI. When gamers and investors experience the personal benefits of AI, this fear of it will be forgotten.
Hive is a special place because we'll not only grow in the AI age, we'll write the protocols for interacting with it and each other. We can build our own roadmap for thriving in the age of AI. So let's join together on this journey and conquer the future.

As a university professor, I encountered issues related to academic integrity violations this semester unlike any I’ve encountered before, because the tools available to students who want to cheat are unprecedented.
We have no way to detect such activity.
Essays and term papers will likely become a thing of the past.
We must come up with alternative ways to have students demonstrate their knowledge and understanding.
I agree 100% and thank you for the comment. I think Hive's going to create an opportunity to study how human interaction with AI evolves when there's a reward incentive. This may be the perfect platform for figuring out how humans can demonstrate value in a world with AI.
I think using the AI to detect students cheating it's something that will be really productive. I think it will be a good thing if we find a lasting solution to students cheating.
The internet has not really helped in the aspect of students cheating instead it seems like it has made things even worse. I think that's one main reason I love hive, hive encourages us to give our best all the time. Hive gives us the opportunity to learn and teach at the same time and that helps us rely more on what we know instead of seeking for help from the internet.
I think I'd love doing things manually because that will help us improve more on ourselves than using the AI, yes it's good for some things but then not everything. Well, that's my thought though, I'm sure it might be different from that of others.
I'm so happy I found this post, I think this is the first time seeing your post on the #dreemport site and I'm so happy I got to read this.
Have a great week 🥰.
Thank you for the comment and support. I think the goal in the future age of AI is to continually improve your value as a "human." Traits like compassion, emotional intelligence, and creativity are going to increase in demand. If your only value has been to be cold, and overly logical it will be difficult. The world will need out of the box thinkers.
You're welcome! I think that's not bad at all, let's see where it all leads us 😊.
I actually won't mind seeing ChatGPT articles being published on Hive as long as the prompts used for them were thoughtful and the posts themselves were unique and factually & logically-consistent. The lack of these features is what makes AI generated articles bad for me.
I never thought about it before, but I guess the value of human "warmth" will become higher as the hard logic of machines will get used more and more.
I like your example with the arrival of internet. I belive we as humans lost something when we stopped memorization in favor of quick access to information, but I argue that it's "worth it" overall.
Thanks for sharing~

Thank you for the comment and support. If you enter in, "what will workers need to survive the age of AI?" In chatgpt you will get a long answer. It will say skills like creativity, emotional intelligence, creativity, collaboration, and leadership are going to be the top skills for the future. Something to think about.
True, AI will take really long time to replicate one of these:
I used ChatGPT to analyze a short story that I'm writing, and the feedback I received was better than any I have received from any human reader. AI is an amazing tool that, as you point out, will propel us forward in remarkable ways. Perhaps, along with human creativity, human intention and purpose have become more valuable commodities. With a tool (or partner) like AI, the direction we choose to go is critically important, and that's up to the human in the partnership. And, there is a ton of thinking and reflection to be done in relation to this new capability ... great start with this blog! :)
Thank you for the comment. Intention, creativity, and purpose are going to become critical. AI is like fire. You'll be able to use it to cook delicious meals or to burn down a forest. I think it will be a golden age for creative people, and possibly hell for others.
Technology improves everyday and things gets better and better. I remember using AI to write out something and the result really baffled me and I continued using it afterward but something lacked behind which is the ability to do it myself manually. I lost it for a while and resumed AI usage again because I was addicted to it. Everything has its advantages and disadvantages which is why we need to balance things. Thanks for submitting this post in dreemport.
This is true with all things. Change is inevitable and the only thing we can control is our ability to adapt.
That's correct!

Dear @ascendingorder, sorry to jump in a bit off topic but may I ask you to support the HiveSQL proposal?
Your help would be much appreciated to keep the HiveSQL service free for the Hive community.
You can do it on Peakd, Ecency, Hive.blog or using HiveSigner.
Thank you for your support!
