Good evening, today I'm going to talk to you about the things that happened during the filming of the Superman movie, which was directed by Richard Donner and starred Christopher Reeve in 1978.
Actor Gene Hackman refused to shave his mustache to play Lex Luthor, so director Richard Doner proposed a deal: if Jin shaved his mustache, he would also go to the barbershop. Hagman thought it was a good deal and after leaving the barbershop he discovered Richard Donner removing a fake mustache from his face.
Actor Marlon Brandon refused to learn his lines. In fact, in the scene where he is with Kalen's baby, he is reading the script in the child's own diapers.
Actor Marlon Brandon earned $3.7 million for 12 Days of Work plus a share of the film's box office profits, but Marlon Brandon was not happy and believed he had been cheated, so he sued the studio for more money and refused to appear in the following Superman films even though there were scenes shot for the second part. In the end the studio ended up giving the actor $14 million.
Well, gentlemen, that's all for today. I hope you liked these curiosities about the Superman movie.
So, tomorrow there will be more and better.
The first superman is really iconic. I mean at the time, they were able to create such movie and honestly I prefer watching this version more than the modern one.
