⚖️ First Impression
I started watching this and got completely sucked in. Even though it runs for about two and a half hours, the pacing is so incredible that it feels like it's over in a flash. It absolutely deserved its awards sweep. It’s a movie that grips you from the very first minute and doesn't let go.

The story follows a washed-up, paranoid former revolutionary (Leonardo DiCaprio) who is forced out of his off-grid life when an old, dangerous enemy resurfaces after sixteen years. To protect his teenage daughter, he must reconnect with his old crew and navigate a chaotic world filled with corruption, cult-like organizations, and absolute madness.
🎭 Analysis and Rating
Sean Penn gave a masterclass here. Even if some viewers disagree with his personal politics and his real-life choices outside of cinema, there is no denying the man's immense acting talent. He fully deserved that statuette, even if he didn't show up to the ceremony to receive it!
Leonardo DiCaprio, as always, is a guarantee of success. He plays a "revolutionary" and paranoid, joint-smoking, lazy father beautifully. And Benicio del Toro as the Sensei? What a character! I absolutely loved his performance. The rest of the cast, including Chase Infiniti and Teyana Taylor, did a phenomenal job holding their own.

- Pacing: Two and a half hours that fly by.
- The Worldbuilding: The plot is wild, complex, and deeply immersive.

Desde el comienzo te adentras en la película y, cuando vienes a ver, se terminó. Dura como 2 horas y media y se pasa volando. Se ganó sus premios de la academia muy merecidamente; es de esas obras que te atrapan y no te dejan mirar el reloj ni una sola vez.
📖 Sinopsis Sin Spoilers
La trama nos presenta a un exrevolucionario paranoico (Leonardo DiCaprio) que vive al margen de la sociedad junto a su hija adolescente. Sin embargo, cuando un viejo y poderoso enemigo del pasado reaparece tras 16 años, se ve obligado a reunir a su antiguo grupo en una odisea llena de adrenalina, peligro y situaciones totalmente surrealistas.
🎭 Análisis y Valoración
Sean Penn hace un papelazo. A pesar de que no es de mi agrado por ser una persona que apoya a la izquierda (primero salió retratado con Chávez y luego con Maduro), no le resto mérito del gran papel que hizo. Al tipo le sobra talento y se merecía la estatuilla, aunque ni fue a la ceremonia a recibirla.
DiCaprio, como siempre, es una garantía de éxito. Hace un gran papel como "revolucionario" y padre vago que se la pasa paranoico y fumando porro. Otro papelazo a mi juicio es el de Benicio del Toro como el Sensei, ¡qué personaje! Me encantó. Chase Infiniti y Teyana Taylor también están a la altura de semejantes monstruos de la actuación.
Lo Rescatable:
- Actuaciones de primer nivel: El trío protagónico está imponente.
- Ritmo impecable: Sus 162 minutos no se sienten pesados en lo absoluto.
- Escenarios y ambientación: Visualmente es espectacular.

- La escena del silbido: El silbido de Jim Parker le da un toque atmosférico brillante.
- La búsqueda del cargador: Parker andando como loco buscando dónde cargar el teléfono y el Sensei de lo más tranquilo es una joya que hasta risa da.
- El regreso de Lockjaw: A pesar de que intentaron matarlo, el tipo todavía quiere ser parte de la "supremacia" o "secta". Aparecer todo desfigurado y ver cómo termina esa escena en la oficina es un poema. Toda la trama la verdad que es de locos.
