If you like movies that are heavy and full of mystery, The Sixth Sense is one of the movies that you will never forget, especially because of its ending that turned cinema upside down at the time. The movie stars Bruce Willis as a child psychiatrist, and Haley Joel Osment, who gave one of the strongest child roles in the history of cinema.
The story is about a young boy named Cole who has a terrifying ability... he sees dead people! Of course, this makes him live in terror all the time, until he meets Dr. Malcolm (Bruce Willis) who tries to help him deal with his fear. Everything in the movie is done perfectly, from the acting to the directing to the atmosphere that makes you feel like you are trapped in a gloomy world full of secrets.
Director Night Shyamalan was able to present a movie full of small details, and after you finish it, you will find yourself wanting to watch it again to understand the things you missed. The ending? Shocking by all standards, and made the movie a mark in mystery and thriller movies. If you haven't seen it, try it at night with the lights off... but be careful, "I see dead people"!
In addition to being a psychological horror movie, The Sixth Sense also plays on your emotions in a brilliant way. The relationship between Cole and Dr. Malcolm is not just a doctor and a patient, it's a deep story about fear, loneliness, and trying to understand the world around us. Every scene in the movie is skillfully calculated, and the soundtrack increased the sense of tension and mystery. Haley Joel Osment was beyond description in his role, and gave a performance that made you feel every moment of terror and anxiety he lived. As for Bruce Willis, he was far from his traditional action roles, and presented a calm, sad character, trying to make up for his mistakes. The ending? One of the most shocking endings you can see, and it will keep the movie in your mind for days!
