Parasite Why it deserved an Oscar?

Parasite is one of the greatest films of recent years, and it strongly deserved the Oscar in 2020. If we are going to say why this film deserved the award, we must talk about some important things from the story, content, and the way it was presented.

First of all, the story itself was full of deep and influential ideas. Parasite is not only a film about poverty and wealth, but it also talks about class disparity, and how society lives in large and tangible gaps between people. A film that takes us inside the lives of two completely different families, a poor family trying to find a place for itself in the world of rich people. But in a very clever way, it reveals the deceptive appearances in all aspects, whether from the rich or the poor class. It takes us between different feelings: laughter, sadness, anger, and in the end there is deep thinking about the bitter truth in society.

The photography was an essential part of the success of this film. Director Bong Joon-ho uses the camera very creatively to reflect this disparity, whether through the wide spaces of the rich people's homes or the narrow, dark places of the poor people's families. This not only makes the film visually beautiful, but it also allows the viewer to feel the characters' emotions more deeply.

On the other hand, the acting was more than wonderful. Every character in the film was mastered greatly. From Kim Ki-taek, the father who tries with all his might to achieve any opportunity for himself, to the character of the son Kim Ki-woo who tries to delude himself that he can change his fate. This performance not only adds depth to the film, but also makes the viewer affected by every moment of the events.

And of course we cannot forget the unexpected story in the film. At first, the film seems simple, but as the events develop, we discover that there are many interconnected threads, and a sudden change in the events makes the film more exciting and suspenseful.

This film is not just a story about poverty and wealth, it makes people think about social relations in society, and how each class can deal with its own challenges and problems. Because of the strong story, excellent direction, and great acting, Parasite really deserved the Oscar.
