The other characters, such as his sister, played by his real-life sister Maggie Gyllenhaal, his mother and father, and even the teachers at school, all gave natural performances that fit the mysterious atmosphere of the film.

The film is full of a gloomy and mysterious atmosphere, with a very excellent soundtrack. The song that appears at the end, Mad World, became iconic after this film, and expresses the general mood of the story. The photography and lighting had a classic and exciting character, and this draws you even more into the story.

The film Donnie Darko is not a simple film to watch if you want something light. The story is very complex, and if you are not focused, you may come out of the film not understanding anything. Also, the ending tends towards ambiguity and may leave you in a state of thinking more than satisfaction. This is a film that you need to watch more than once to absorb all its details.

Donnie Darko is a brilliant movie, but it's not for everyone. If you like movies that make you think and delve into concepts like time and destiny, you'll be amazed by it. But if you like simple stories, you might feel that this movie isn't for you.
