Iron Man is the first Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, released in 2008, starring Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark. This was, what can I say? a science fiction and action movie, but with a lot of comedy. The director of this movie is the famous filmmaker, Jon Favreau. The length of the movie is around 2 hours.

Plots🗒️

The main hero, Tony Stark, is a multi-billionaire, crazy inventor, and the owner of the biggest arms manufacturing company in the world. During a field test of his weapon, he gets captured by terrorists in Afghanistan. They tell him to build a weapon, but he designs and makes his first armor suit that helps him escape. During this, he watches and realizes how these terrorists are using his weapon to kill innocent people. Then, he decides to stand up for humanity.

Back home, he immediately shut down the weapon manufacturing division of his company and built an advanced Iron Man suit to fight the threats against humanity. In a way, he manages to stop terrorism in Afghanistan with the help of his suit. However, the main culprit is within his company, Obadiah Stane, the director of the weapons manufacturing division.

What Worked ✅

Concept and Storytelling: The movie’s main concept was showing high-tech sci-fi weapons and suits. The storyline was very clear and easy to understand for the viewers.

Visuals and Suit Design: The visuals are very realistic and futuristic. At that time, showcasing advanced technology, the use of artificial intelligence creates a distinct vibe in this movie, which sparks excitement among the audience. The graphics of the movie were way better than other that makes our superhero look real.

Emotion and realization: In the movie, we have seen the emotion of Tony Stark for humanity and a huge transformation from a selfish arms dealer to a responsible hero. A journey that begins with inspiration and belief.

What Didn’t Work ❌

Easy Predictable Villain: As the villain character Obadiah Stane, performed by Jeff Bridges, felt like a normal villain without any kind of power or dangerous movement. It was a typical villain who was betraying our hero from behind.

Compared to Other MCU Films: Compared to other MCU films, this movie has fewer fighting scenes, which I would say worked well, as this was the first movie of the MCU series.

Standout Performances 😎

Robert Downey Jr. marks his name as Tony Stark, AKA Iron Man, and wins the hearts of MCU fans with his outstanding performance and expression. He sets an example of the transformation of an arrogant man into a responsible and purposeful man.

Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts does an excellent work who is the personal secretary of Tony in the movie. She adds a warm feeling for Tony by taking care of and being supportive of him at the crucial moments.

Final Thoughts 💭

Iron Man is more than a superhero film. It's a story about duty, responsibility, and creation. It successfully launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe by combining action, comedy, and science.
