The Twin Switch Plot In "Our Unwritten Seoul" - Review

This drama could be the last one for me until "I don't know when next" because I'm taking a long or a "never again" break from Non-English movies for a particular reason which I've shared in previous post. But I'm definitely not skipping the review part of seeing a movie so I'm here to share my thoughts on this series I finished last.

I had this one on my list for a while before I decided to see it for one of the weird reasons, that is, it's a short episode story. I also love the female lead because of my memory of her in "Strong Woman Bong-soo", a series that had me laughing so much with a good mix of romance and action. I'm not a fan of the male lead but I love his music with the other members of "Got7".

"Our Unwritten Seoul" is a 12 episode series that was released 2025 starring Park Bo-young, Park Jin-young and Ryu Kyung-soo. The story revolves around an identical twin (Park Bo-young) who switched places and have to live each other's life even though they have contrasting differences but looks that can't be differentiated.

The storyline goes like A high spirited lady living in her small hometown, doing all kinds of job for money, after she stopped running and college, is sent to visit her twin sister in the city with foods. During their conversations, she realizes that her sister have been facing workplace bullying and was about to cause harm to herself by falling.

To sort the issue of stopping work because of injury as planned, she agreed to switch places with her twin sister and became a corporate worker and her sister started to work at the farm she had applied to start work at before the agreement. The mother couldn't differentiate them so she treated her twin sister as the usual.

Adjusting to each other's life, and a childhood friend who is a lawyer comes in between them because he is in love with one of them. Since he works in Seoul too, he meets the one he is actually in love with but disguised as the one he isn't attracted to but owe because of the work issues she has. But he slowly falls for her again.

Then there is Ryu Kyung-soo who plays the role of the owner of the farm where the twin sister starts working after her time in the corporate setting in Seoul. The switch was crazy and I especially enjoyed it because of the character played by this actor, he made the story so lively. It's a new side to him when I remember his roles in "Tale of the Nine Tailed" and "Itaewon Class".

Over all, it's a nice storyline but nothing much is new about it. It felt like I've seen the storyline in other stories before but still, I enjoyed my time on it. I love how versatile the female lead is especially with how she had to switch roles in this story, being lively and being dull, quite cool. I'll rate the series 7/10 mainly for the female lead.
