Love Tested by Time, Memory, and Second Chances

I binge watched three movies in a day last week and I thought to share my thoughts on them. They were all highly recommended by a stranger on an Instagram reel I watched, I decided to see them because of the hype in the comment section and I've heard about the last one before.

So here are my thoughts on each of the movie, briefly. And I'll recommend it to any who loves romantic movies, these ones are heavily romantic, setting the bars high lol. They are old movies so let me know if you've seen any already.

Love, Rosie (2014)

If there is one more movie that got me silently screaming for the time to be just right so love can happen, it's this movie. The story told in this movie is what plays perfectly what they say "Waiting for the right time may never make it happen". For love to happen, one has to take the time they have with who they fall in love with.

This story tells us about two best friends who have been friends since they were kids. As they grew older, they find themselves attractive but can't seem to do anything about it so they don't lose their friendship. They go about being in relationships with other people but deep down, they only want themselves while still acting as friends. Their lives changes so much before they realized what they should have done a long time ago, lady got pregnant, guy almost got married.

The Vow (2012)

I would have said this is my favourite on the list until I saw the next one I'll share my thought on. This one is a love story between a married couple, I think that's the main reason I appreciate it more. Most stories are always about two separate people falling in love. This one was too but the most part of the story was in their marriage which I think I enjoyed more as it ends.

A beautiful and loving couple gets married in the city, made remarkable vows to themselves and started life until they got into an accident and lady loses her memory. The sweetest part of the story begins as the man tries to make his wife fall in love with him again. It was intense and the story didn't even end with her remembering him but he did succeed to make her fall in love again.

The Notebook (2004)

My favorite on the list for many reasons. It started as a story being told to an old and dementia woman by a man called Duke. The story reveals the life of a 17 year old girl who meets a local farm guy during one of her visit to her hometown. It's a story of the rich girl and the poor guy so it made a lot of sense when they got separated at the beginning but being together after many years, after a promise kept, sweet!

After seeing the movie, I wish I had seen it all those times I've been seeing the poster everywhere. It's a great love story in 2 hours and I love how it was told to the woman who experienced the love but forgot about it in her old age. After she remembers, what happens next made me feel so emotional and inspired. Love it.
