I have been doing a lot of random movie watching while learning better speaking and understanding more about different aspects in life. That led me to these movies, stories gotten from the Bible. I've been reading a lot of stories from the Bible so it was nice to find these two.
I know not many may know the stories of the Bible but I also know a lot of people know them very well, so this review will be mainly about how I felt watching the two movies, my thoughts on the characters that played the roles and how accurate they are to the stories I read in the Bible.
THE BOOK OF RUTH

I saw this one first, the popular story about the woman, Ruth who left her people to go with her mother in-law, Naomi to a new land even though the marriage had ended. The story in the Bible didn't give any emotional feel to when the decision was made but seeing the movie from when she lost her husband, the kind of mother she had and her co-wife who chose not to follow. All that made the message emotional and clear.
I love the character that played Ruth, she embodies the role just the way I imagined the actual Ruth to be. A calm, full of live and courageous lady who loves without any expectations. It's how she loved Naomi, went to a strange land to serve a new God and found favour in the eyes of one of the prominent men in the land, Boaz. Another character I couldn't get enough of. A comment said "God, I want my own Boaz", he is such a good prayer point for love. 😅
THE BOOK OF ESTHER

I thought I loved the story of Ruth so much until I watched the story of Esther. In this story, I'm the one praying I could be like Esther because of the attitude she had through out the story. I know I'll owe that to the character who played the role, she is so soft spoken, beautiful on the inside, respectful and very obedient to her God, her guardian and then, her king later. It's a story of a humble girl becomes Queen and saves the Jews.
The role of Hamaan, who's the villain of the story, was well played. I laughed a lot in the story because of him, I mean, because of his foolishness lol. Reading the story in the Bible didn't bring much description as the movie did. Although it means a lot from the real story was over done or not done exactly. Still, it definitely was about the story the Bible told about a great Queen who ruled in obedience with a great King.
Both movies are interesting even if it's a Bible story and I'll love for you to check them out. Both are available on YouTube to watch or download and watch later. Let me know if you've read the stories before and if you'll see the movies too.
