Bias Aside, This Drama Is A Good Watch: "CTLBT" Review

I skipped all the other series from the year 2025 that I had downloaded to see a more recent one because of the actor playing the main lead character, he has been one of my favourites since the first series I saw him in and I totally loved his role in "Childe", it's an action role I didn't expect.

When I saw this series "Can This Love Be Translated?" and that the female lead is a cute one I've only seen once in the series "Alchemy of souls", I downloaded and started seeing it almost immediately all episodes were out. In less than a week, I finished all twelve episodes of the series.

"Can This Love Be Translated?" is a 2026 Korean drama series starring Kim Seon-Ho, Go Youn-jung and the Japanese actor Sôta Fukushi. It's said to be a comedy series but I'll say it's more of a romantic story than a funny story, but I like the comedy in it especially at the start of the story.

The storyline went like this... An interpreter meets a lady who is trying to confront her cheating boyfriend in a language she doesn't know how to speak, they had a rough first meeting but he helped her translate her feelings and somehow, they had a deep conversation about their personal lives and she took a picture of him.

It turns out she's a rising star as she woke from a coma to see that her movie sold off big time and she is a popular actress, she randomly posts the picture and they meet again but this time, he acts as her interpreter professionally. She has to participate in a documentary with a popular Japanese actor and the interpreter was asked.

The past trauma in the story was quite unexpected, especially for the female lead who had to live with her mother showing up in her dreams and even reality. I didn't expect the story to get so dark but it did at so many points but I love how the interpreter got to understand her after many misunderstandings of how she feels.

I find his interpretation skill really cool, I like how he makes sure of what he has to translate before he does, so he doesn't become a middleman for a fight. I'll say the actual romance took too long to happen but the tension until it finally did was very much how I love it, slow burn and refreshing.
