A Bold Dream That Challenged Society’s Limits: "The Banker" Review

Someone said something that made me feel the rush to see this movie, in the comments of the posted movie on Moviebox. It wasn't anything special actually, it just felt like more than a coincidence to how I was feeling at the time I read it, what I was hoping to just learn about and the story in this movie was just perfect for me.

If you want a movie that teaches you exactly what it means to be doubt when you have "too big" dreams because those who are doubting think it's impossible, to get close to success but hitting a rock and have to start over again and having just one support that will give you the headstart or encouragement you need to go on.

This movie has the story you'll love and be encouraged to do what you have to do anyways, just have an open mind to see the movie and see it from the angle of you as the main character. I really had a good time on this story because of how the character stayed same for quite a while but changed in the very small way he needed.

"The Banker" is a financial, period and biography drama released in the year 2020 starring Anthony Mackie, Samuel L. Jackson, Nicholas Hoult and Nia Long. As can be guessed by now, the story is based on a true story of a black American who had big dreams and achieved it in a way that wasn't illegal but was because he's a black man.

The story starts with a young boy cleaning the shoes of some white men discussing among themselves. The boy takes a book and a pen out to write out something new he learnt from over hearing their discussion... He wants to be a financial analyst and he is learning every way possible. The boy grows to become a man, married and with a son but looked down on by his father in-law. He is not discouraged but finds investor for his big dream to buy an all-white estate. He succeeds until he loses his first investor to death and have to start over. He starts over with another black man, hire a working-class white man to pretend to be the head of their business. He gained more success over time.

That's just the story in brief with little to no spoiler because you really should see the movie. It is a powerful story of personal conviction, success, support, trust and impacting change even at the cost of freedom. I also like that it is set in a period which made the story more historical especially at one of the last scenes.
