I am not sure what really made me download this movie to see it so I'll like to think that I just needed a random movie to pass the time, especially with my sick cousin. We had just finished having dinner and to pass time before bed, I found this movie for us to see it together.
Thankfully, it wasn't as terrible as I was already planning to write that it is, because I saw it to the end and it cleared most of the annoyance I had for the story at the beginning. What I'm trying to say is, you should brace yourself for a back and forth storytelling if you want to see this movie.

We Live In Time is a 1hr 48min UK movie released in the year 2024, starring Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh and it tells a story back and forth, which I think made a regular story feel different and real to what is in our world today. The story is well told with good chemistry.
Like I said, the story was told back and forth but simply, it's a story about a divorcee and a talented chef who falls in love and begin to build the life and family they have always wanted but a diagnosis threatens their future and they have to choose to live in the present or worry about later.
It also portrays the life of a critically ill chef and mother who is more concerned about what her daughter will remember her by when she is gone, instead of just by the illness that took her life. The story ends with her fulfilling her dream, her daughter learned from her and she dies satisfied.

Personally, the end wasn't so satisfying but that's because I was wishing for some miracle that a terminal illness won't take the life of a loved one but even in reality, some death must happen. But I really liked how they choose to live as the happy family they are, regardless of the ticking clock.
I also like the chemistry between the couple, from the first time they met (it has to be one of the most scary meet up lol) to the time they decided to do life together, even proposing after a death sentence have been pronounced felt unreal but I know it happens so the story felt more real.
Aside the back and forth that pissed my cousin and I up at first, the story is a good one and I love how easily they created closure for the character left behind in the story. I'm actually curious about a movie I saw that he starred in, I like his acting so I'm guessing already that it will be a good one.
Over all, it's a nice movie and I'll recommend it if you'd like a sad but lovely story told back and forth lol. I also recommend for the chemistry between the characters, it's not one you find easily among actors especially when you've not seen a movie of them before. I'll rate it 8.5/10.
