The Platform is a movie that makes you think get nervous and ask questions that never crossed your mind.
When I started watching The Platform I expected it to be just a strange movie with a different idea but it turned out to be much more than just a psychological horror or science fiction movie The story revolves around a vertical prison with two prisoners on each floor and in the middle of the building there is a platform that brings down food every day and this is the only food available to everyone But the problem is that those above take what they want and those below keep waiting for crumbs or even do not find anything at all.
The movie is terrifying not only because of the scenes of violence but because of the idea itself which is a very clear projection on society and class The whole idea shows how people behave when they have a chance to take more and how those below are put in a situation that leaves them with only two choices either surrender or revolt While I was watching I couldnt stop myself from thinking If I were the hero how would I have acted Was I going to eat and thats it Or was I going to try to change something.
What also attracted me is that the movie doesnt provide easy answers on the contrary it leaves you full of questions and confused There are violent and shocking moments but everything that happens has a meaning its not just a shock for no reason The characters are also made professionally each one has their own way of dealing with the situation and every dialogue between them makes you think more about what is happening around you.
The ending was strange and open and this is something that some people might not like but for me it was very appropriate for the nature of the movie Its not a movie that gives you answers but it leaves you with a feeling that you have to think and you have to ask yourself Is the world really different from this prison If people cooperated would the situation change.
The Platform is not just a movie but a scary and deep experience that reveals things about the human psyche and society and really if you have not seen it yet you have missed a lot.
I've heard a lot about this film, people say it's very good and from what you say I can see that it is. I think it's a critique of society.
