I am a fan of adventure and exploration movies especially if they are based on true stories and The Lost City of Z was one of the movies that grabbed me from the first minute and The movie tells the story of British traveler Percy Fawcett who was convinced that there was a lost city in the heart of the Amazon jungle and decided to dedicate his life to searching for it despite all the dangers he faced This in itself is a great thing because not everyone has the courage to leave their stable life and venture into the unknown.
Charlie performance as Fawcett was very good I felt that the character was not just an ordinary adventurer but someone who has a strong belief in his idea and is willing to sacrifice anything to prove it This is what made his journey not just a search for a lost city but also a journey into the meaning of believing in a dream and insisting on it no matter the obstacles Although the movie is not full of action in the way some people might expect from an adventure movie the general atmosphere in it attracted me a lot especially the natural landscapes and forests that the camera captured in a wonderful way.
What I also liked is that the movie doesnt just focus on exploration but it shows the human side of the main character his relationship with his family especially his wife who always supported him even though he was away from her for months and years This made the story more profound because its not just a story about an adventure but also about the sacrifices a person can make to achieve his dream.
But honestly I felt that the movie was a bit long and at some moments the pace could have been faster especially in the second half And although the story is true I wish the ending was a bit clearer because it left me with more questions than answers.
The Lost City of Z is a very good movie for adventure and true story lovers Its not just a movie about discovering a lost city but its about a persons passion to search for the unknown and how great dreams always require great sacrifices I think that anyone who loves movies that have real meaning and depth will find great pleasure in watching it.
