Ready or Not 2: Here I Come is the direct sequel to Samara Weaving's movie in 2019. Although made seven years later, the movie stayed true to its original style. It still blends horror, dark comedy and over the top gruesome kills that fans of the original will appreciate.

The story picks up almost immediately after the ending of the first movie where Grace was smoking in the stairs while the mansion was burning. Grace has just survived the massacre at the Le Domas mansion when she discovers her nightmare is far from over. She is reunited with her younger sister, Faith. Then she learns that other elite families, not just the Le Domas, are involved in the same pact with the devil. These powerful clans believe Grace is the key to claiming the mysterious High Seat, forcing her and Faith into another deadly game where they are hunted by the family members.

Like the first movie, the film mixes horror, dark comedy and over the top violence. The sequel expands the lore from the first film and involves several wealthy families and the Le Domas clan was just one of them. The over the top kills and larger cast including Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Elijah Wood (LOTR) made the movie more entertaining especially to fans of both actors.

In my opinion, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come successfully expands the lore established in the first movie while still making it fun and interesting. It may not surpass the original, but it remains an exciting, funny and satisfyingly bloody film. If you enjoyed the blend of horror and comedy in Ready or Not, this sequel is worth watching.
