After two thrilling movies filled with brutal slasher and supernatural mystery, Fear Street Part Three: 1666 delivers the answers behind Shadyside's centuries old curse. The final chapter begins as a historical horror film then it transforms into a suspenseful finale that reunited the characters from Fear Street Part One: 1994.
Plot Summary

Picking up after the ending of Fear Street Part Two: 1978, Deena finally experiences the truth behind the legend of Sarah Fier. She was transported back to the year 1666 and witnesses life in the old days. She sees the events that led to Sarah Fier accused of being a witch and hanged.
This is where it deviates from the book. Rather than presenting Sarah Fier as the simple villain in the books, the film makes a twist and shows that the Goodes were not good and were the real villains after all. After revealing the origins of the curse, the story returns to 1994. Deena and her surviving friends prepare to break the curse once and for all.
Analysis

it can't be a witch movie without torches and pitchforks, lol
Fear Street 1666 spends less time slasher scenes and instead focused more on storytelling. The colonial setting reminded me of The Witch (2015).

The Witch (2015), source:imdb
It created a dark and scary atmosphere. It showed how superstition and fear can destroy lives just as effectively as any supernatural monster.
I like that the familiar actors portrayed their ancestors. It's like history repeating itself and showing the connections between the past and present. Once the film goes back to 1994, the pace becomes faster. The finale was suspensful and a satisfying payoff to the ones who watched the previous two movies.
What makes Fear Street 1666 so enjoyable is how well it completes the story started in Fear Street Part One: 1994 and expanded in Fear Street Part Two: 1978. The mystery about Sarah Fier, the recurring killers, Camp Nightwing and the curse that has plagued Shadyside are finally answered. I also liked the twist that deviated from the books. It was a great surprise especially for the ones who read the books but the twist was already hinted in previous movies.
I highly recommend watching the entire Fear Street trilogy in order, as each movie builds upon the last. The story was smoothly done as I suspected that this was one big movie divided into three parts. It could be watched in one weekend over pop corn or lunch.
