A mother's heart: finding joy in my boys

One of the things I'll always be grateful for is my two boys, who are my bundle of joy. They make me happy no matter how down I am. Gratitude is one of the those quiet moment when you realize what you have, even when life feels difficult. My boys are my world, they are the reason why I keep going in life, my deepest source of joy and laughter.

My boys with their endless energy and endless curiosity are something I do not take for granted. My world revolves around them. Life hasn't always been easy, there are bills to pay, mouths to feed but when I look at them, I forget everything. They are my constant reminder that love is greater than anything else.

My oldest can ask questions for the world, even the ones I do not have answer to, I have to get answer because he won't stop asking. I still remember when he was like 3 years old or there are about, sometimes I will sit down thinking and lost, not knowing that I'm frowning my face because of the situation of things as at then, my boy will come to me and ask me "mummy what happened?".

I can't tell him anything so I'll just say nothing and he will hug me and say it's okay. At that moment, tears will nearly flow from my eyes but because my boy has told me it's okay, I'll smile and we will begin to play.

My youngest is a whirlwind of joy, always giggling or tumbling into my arms. His is small but his hugs are tight. When he hugs, it'll be like he wants to sqeeze all the love he has into me. He is just learning to talk and when he talks I'll smile that my baby is making progress in speech I'm sure every mother can relate to this.

Being their mother has really thought me to be grateful for everything. It's not just about saying thank you for the big things, it's appreciating the little things we have. It's about finding joy in small moments.

Gratitude is also appreciating the life we’re building together. The late-night talks, the injured knees and hands I kiss to become better.

Life can be hard, but my boys make it beautiful. They are my reason to be grateful, my reminder that love is the greatest gift. Every day with them is a treasure, and I hold that truth close to my heart.
