Hello everyone!
Cooking is part of parenthood. As parents, we need to cook not only because it is our responsibility, but also because it is one of the ways we show our love. Food tastes different when it is prepared with care and love. Even a simple meal or food preparation can become special when we know it was made for people we care about.

Yesterday was another happy day at our daycare. We prepared pancit and fried chicken for the children’s feeding time.

For the pancit, every parent helped with the preparation. We worked together to slice the ingredients, including garlic, onions, carrots, and cabbage. These ingredients were provided by the DSWD in our province, and we were very thankful for this support.

While we were cooking, the delicious smell of the pancit filled the daycare. The children were still having their class, but they have already smell the food. Some of them were curious and excited to taste it. They kept asking when they could eat, but we lovingly told them, “Wait for feeding time!”

It was a little funny because the smell seemed to make everyone hungry even the parents!
For the fried chicken, we first boiled the chicken until it became soft and tender. After that, we added seasonings and prepared it for frying. We learned that cooking does not always have to be complicated. Sometimes, simple steps and a little patience can make a delicious meal.

When feeding time finally came, we were all happy to see the children enjoying their food. They really loved the fried chicken! Maybe fried chicken is one of those foods that can make almost every child smile. But the pancit was also a success because the children finished it too.

As parents, we also learn something every day through cooking. We learn patience, teamwork, creativity, and the joy of serving others. Preparing food may look like a simple task, but behind every meal is time, effort, and love.
We also try to prepare different menus every day so the children will enjoy their meals and will not get bored with the same food. For us, feeding is not only about filling their little tummies. It is also about helping them grow healthy, happy, and ready to learn.

Motherhood teaches us that love can be found in many simple things. Sometimes, even in a plate of pancit and a piece of fried chicken.
Thank you for reading my little story. This is my own picture, I captured yesterday during the feeding in our daycare school and the lead photo was edited in Canva.
