The COMedy Rumble: La Doña altanera [ESP-ENG]

Esta es mi primera participación en el concurso de The Comedy Rumble de un mes, organizado por @amirtheawesome1 , @thisismylife y @lisfabian para divertirnos con todas las historias chistosas que contamos aquí. Y como no quiero perderlo, gracias a la nominación que me hizo @eduardmartinez, hoy les contaré una anécdota que me sucedió recientemente.
Les cuento, hace algunas semanas mi urbanización era víctima de robos de cables de los postes del alumbrado público. Y no conforme con eso, también había personas que saboteaban los cables del servicio de internet y televisión por cable.
Por esas razones, todos los vecinos estábamos muy alerta y creció la desconfianza hacia todas las personas que se acercaban a los postes de luz; hasta el punto de colocar botellas de vidrio sobre los cables. Por mi parte, yo estaba muy pendiente también, parecía que yo tenía unas antenas de precaución como las del Chapulín Colorado.

This is my first entry to month-long The Comedy Rumble contest, organized by @amirtheawesome1 , @thisismylife and @lisfabian to have fun with all the funny stories we tell here. And since I don't want to lose it, thanks to the nomination that @eduardmartinez made me, today I will tell you an anecdote that happened to me recently.
I tell you, a few weeks ago my urbanization was the victim of theft of cables from public lighting poles. And not satisfied with that, there were also people who sabotaged the cables of the internet service and cable television.
For these reasons, all the neighbors were very alert and distrust grew towards all the people who approached the light poles; to the point of placing glass bottles on the cables. For my part, I was also very attentive, it seemed that I had some precautionary antennas like those of Chapulín Colorado.
En una mañana soleada, se estacionó una camioneta extraña justo frente a mi casa. En ese momento yo estaba ocupada lavando la ropa, cerca de una ventana que da para la calle. Entonces, escuché las voces de varios hombres. Extrañada (y más que todo: precavida por la situación), decidí ir a ver lo que sucedía y observé que un hombre se quedó dentro del vehículo y otros dos se acercaron con una escalera al poste de alumbrado.
En seguida se encendieron las alarmas. No lo pensé dos veces, lancé la ropa en la cubeta de una manera rabiosa y me dirigí rápidamente a la puerta para reclamar furiosa a los hombres. Cuando salí de la casa les pregunté a ellos muy educadamente (¡mentira!, fue un grito estruendoso): “¡¿QUÉ HACEN USTEDES AHÍ? SEGURAMENTE SE QUIEREN ROBAR LOS CABLES!”
On a sunny morning, a strange truck was parked right in front of my house. At that time I was busy washing clothes, near a window facing the street. Then, I heard the voices of several men. Surprised (and more than anything: cautious about the situation), I decided to go see what was happening and I noticed that a man stayed inside the vehicle and two others approached the lamp post with a ladder.
Immediately the alarms went on. I didn't think twice, I threw the clothes in the bucket in a furious way and went quickly to the door to furiously claim the men. When I left the house I asked them very politely (I lie! It was a thunderous scream): “WHAT ARE YOU DOING THERE? SURELY YOU WANT TO STEAL THE CABLES!”
Los dos hombres se tambaleron en la escalera y me respondieron de forma irónica: “¡Estamos colocando el alumbrado, DOOOÑAAAA! ¡Somos de la compañía de electricidad!”.
Yo me sentí realmente avergonzada y con mucha pena decidí volver a la casa. Cuando entré, me di cuenta que mi yerno también había presenciado todo lo ocurrido (y resulta que no me defendió); pero con muchas risas él me comentó que cuando me regresaba a casa, los hombres que trabajaban para la compañía eléctrica me hicieron gestos con la mano de estar loca.
The two men staggered on the stairs and answered me ironically: “We are installing the lighting, MIIIISTREEESS! We are from the electricity company!”.
I felt really embarrassed and with great sadness I decided to go back home. When I entered, I realized that my son-in-law had also seen everything that happened (and it turns out that he did not defend me); but with a lot of laughter he told me that when I was coming home, the men who worked for the electric company waved their hands at me saying I was crazy.
Posterior a todo eso, resulta que los hombres sí estaban diciendo la verdad; y para esa misma noche, toda la calle en donde vivo estaba TOTALMENTE ALUMBRADA. Siendo sincera, nunca le pedí disculpas a los trabajadores (estoy apenada, por si alguno lee esta publicación); pero díganme ustedes, ¿quién va a pensar en lo bueno cuando nos estaban robando los cables?
Al final les dejo esta recomendación: No sean tan fuertes con los trabajadores, pero estén alertas. Pues ¡Doña precavida, vale por dos!
After all that, it turns out that the men were telling the truth; and that same night, the entire street where I live was FULLY LIGHTED. To be honest, I never apologized to the workers (I'm sorry if anyone reads this post); but tell me, who is going to think about the good when they were stealing our cables?
In the end I leave you this recommendation: Do not be so strong with the workers, but be alert. Well, mistress cautious, it's worth two!

If it was me, I would have said the same thing thinking the two men have come to steal the cables 😂😂😂
Oh no! They shouldn't have called you crazy though because it wasn't your fault. You were only trying to be at alert. Lol
That's more like it 😆😆 I'm in support of that, they shouldn't blame you since it's been on the news about such movements.

Well it wasn't your fault, imagine being told that there are thief's in the area and suddenly you find people approaching the cables, I would've done the same thing.
