Hello Hello Hivers, Hivians and any other wonderful being who has stumbled onto this!
I am back with another wee stroll in the summer sunshine. Today we are up in the North of Scotland and visiting Aberdeen beach.

The sun had come out to play amd the time was 7am.
When we lived here, I was here almost every other day walking the dogs. It is huge and a wonderful place for them to swim and run and run and oh yes, did I say run!

The weather, well this was summer but, you could almost say it is the same in spring and autumn just a fair bit windier. And yes that wind whipping in off the North Sea is fluffing cold!

I swivelled round to let you see just how long the beach is!

With all this wind and storms that we get, the sand gets blow all over the place. So these barriers help stop it being blow miles away and eroding the beach any further!

It has been a good few years since I was last here, and I am not sure those boulders were there.

They could well be another manmade coastal defence mechanism.

Wind energy and a change from Abderdeen's Oil and Gas Past.
I worked as a Process Engineer and Projects Manager in the oil and gas industry for many years.

Aberdeen was Europe's Oil and Gas capital and that was why I was up there on and off for so many years.

I do think the wind turbines are quite magical and hypnotic, and I love flying over wind farms!

Growing up by the sea and working by the sea, I have a great affinity for it, and the waves man, I could stare at them all day long!

It is so darn calming and comforting. I could not cope with this land locked nonsense!

Back to the beach, you can see there is a walkway down from the Beach Boulevard.

Entrance to the harbour flanked by two lighthouses.

This is a very popular surfing spot, something I found too fluffing cold, even wearing drysuits etc!

The wee oystercatcher was fun and I will write a post about him and our antics together!

Can you guess what the control tower building is?

Aberdeen Beach boasts a sweeping stretch of golden sands framed by the lively Beach Boulevard and Esplanade. Just minutes from the city centre, it offers brisk North Sea walks, dolphin spotting, classic seaside eateries, and stunning coastal views stretching from Footdee right along the coastline.

This beach, well the sand goes all the way down the coast, miles and miles of it. There are other beaches that we used to go to, and if you kept walking then hours later, you would end up back on Aberdeen beach!

That sea, whipping up a wee summer storm...

No dolphins today, but we did see some birds.

Of course, it would not be a beach without a seagull!

And this gorgeous wee gold fella, what he was doing there, I have no idea!

To get to the beach there are about three main roads in.

This one taking you to the retail park. I remember when this was all built. There used to just be grass!

Now though, there are amusements (when they are open!)

Those eateries are shut now!

Quite sad really.

The old beach pavilion in a sad state of repair!

Remember I said so many of those eateries were closed. Well now there seems to lots of vans or street food I guess you would call it!
I had a lunch date, so was not tempted!
The sign says Footdee, well locals say Fittie!

Today I leave you at the start of Fittie, that will be another post!

And there we have it. I hope you enjoyed that and got out for a walk this week!
Anyway, have a good one.

Definitely looks like more of a Autumn day to me! We have a bunch of old malls that are basically gutted now. It's super sad. I wish they would find a way to repurpose them for something or just tear them down and reclaim the space as green space.
I would like to visit the sea but I would prefer it at night where the sun is hidingπ.
