Olympic Forest Park: An unexpected wild nature in the heart of the Beijing City

Greetings my dear hive fellows from Beijing, China!

Everywhere I go in the beautiful municipal area of Beijing, I see many parks with natural beauty that have become a part of modern Chinese culture. I feel that most of the part of the Beijing Municipal is under natural scenic areas, including parks, scenic spots, lakes, and mountain ranges. I was totally amazed to explore the vast area of the Olympic Park just inside the heart of the city, which is something I had never thought of. The vast area is completely another wild area that you can't imagine. Though I have visited this area previously, I have never entered the deeper sections of the huge park.

The park was built for the 2008 Summer Olympics. It has two parts and they are the southern part and the northern part, which is divided by a main road near where I got the city sound for a while for the running vehicle on the overhead road. The total area of the park is 680 hectares which means around 6.8 square km which is really insane! I can't imagine such a big park in the city area of my country's largest city, Dhaka as we don't have enough land for proper residential land and many canals are being destroyed for that. So, the park really amazed me.

Initially, I had planned to go to the nearby China Science and Technology Museum, but tickets were sold out that day, which was going to be a bad day. But this lucky turn led me to find the Olympic Forest Park, which is a secret gem in the middle of Beijing's busy cityscape. In spite of being in the middle of the city, this park really makes sense for its name by providing a natural landscape with lush greenery and so many canals with smaller bridges connecting the whole area. I heard that these wetlands were artificially made to make it a beautiful place for nature lovers like me.

The reflected beauty of the building in the still water make it an awesome view by the riverside area in this region of the city.

As I walked into the park from the area of modern buildings near the museum, I was struck by how different the parks appears which is completely different from the buildings on the other side. I arrived through the south gate area, which was lined with a lot of green trees and bushes that made the way to the green area ahead look nice. Alongside was a slow-moving river from where the city views looks stunning. Also, the reflected view of some modern building were awesome to have the experience.

The moment I walked through the gates, I felt a calmness from the chaotic environment of the city life over me. Even though I was in the middle of a busy city, the park made me feel so comfortable to walk through without the noises of the people and the vehicles but can hear the chirping sounds o f the birds that sooth me.

The normal noise of city life faded into the background, and the soothing sound of birds singing, bees buzzing, and trees moving in the wind took its place. Even though it was cloudy, the summer heat was unbearable, so I took frequent breaks to drink water and enjoy the coolness of seats in the shade throughout my whole exploration.

The Olympic Forest Park is very big, covering an area that was carefully designed to show off different types of environments. Each area in the park has its special charm, from well-kept fields with local plants to large woods with old trees watching over everything. As I walked through these different places, I was amazed at how well the designers had combined nature with the city.

There were many rest areas spread out across the park, giving people plenty of chances to stop and enjoy their surroundings. These places to rest were placed so that they would offer both peace and stunning views of the park's natural beauty. They were placed in groups of trees or next to calm ponds.

One of the most interesting things about the park was how it worked to protect and show off certain types of trees. There seemed to be a different tree theme in each part of the park. It was clear that a lot of thought had gone into keeping the natural balance and making the area a safe place for plants and animals in the middle of the Beijing City.

As I went deeper into the park, I came across a peaceful lake that sparkled in the cloudy sky. The water reflected the tree cover above, making a smooth surface that showed how peaceful the area was. There were so many wooden bridges and concrete bridges to connect the wetlands. Some wetlands were full of bushes so thick that it was a little bit scary if you are alone there.

During my journey, I met other tourists who, like me, were looking for comfort in nature. Some people ran along the curving paths, while others just relaxed on the open fields, having picnics or just enjoying the day away from the busy city. I saw many families enjoying their launch together as they brought them here as a day tour. Many tents were set up for enjoying their leisure with their children.

I didn't want to leave the park, but I need to go a long way to my living dorm from the city center. So, around 5 pm, I left the park for my bus station as it takes one our to go to the bus stand from the park area. Everything about the experience was mesmerizing, showing how well nature and technology can live together in Beijing. Going to the Olympic Forest Park not only made me feel better, but it also made me realize how important open areas are in cities to make the people live a better life. I remembered the park's peaceful beauty and the soothing sound of nature's with me as I left the park.

I hope you like my photos of the beauty of the Olympic Forest Park. It was an amazing experience to have such a fantastic place like this, with the discovery of natural beauty, to enjoy my Beijing life! If you have any queries, let me know in the comments, and I will try my best to answer them.
