This is my first share on #pinmapple...what a community to get involved with. For my first share, I had to go with a visit to the FAST Fiberglass Mold Graveyard...what a sight to photograph!
The company has been busy since the 1960's and has produced many of the molds that help create roadside attractions over here in the states. If you see a big, pink, fiberglass elephant on the side of the road along I-90, there's a good chance it originated in Sparta, Wisconsin.
This place has it all...mermaids, guitars, Satan, dinosaurs, dragons, waterslides...you name it, and there's a good chance that there is an old mold hanging around the grounds. A lot of it is quite old, too, as you can tell from the fungus growth on the surface of the materials.
There was a Nessie, too...
A skull...
And a massive ice cream cone...
I bet you thought there were no dragons...right? Well, you guessed wrong; lots of dragons too!
All in all, if you are ever in this area of the globe, stop by to check out the sights. Bring a camera along, too!
Again this is my first post to the #pinmapple community. I'm looking forward to keeping this community in mind as we continue to head out for random day trips and family adventures. There are plenty of interesting things in this are to photograph and speak to...I just need to remember to bring a camera along when out and about.
This is my idea of heaven!

Hi @sagesigma,
Great to see you using the #travelfeed tag! We launched the #travelfeed curated tag more than 3 years ago and have been supporting the best travel blogs on Hive ever since. But did you know that TravelFeed has evolved? Based on the feedback of thousands of Hive travel bloggers we created TravelFeed.io.
TravelFeed.io brings together all the benefits of Hive decentralized blogging with features that you as a travel blogger will love: Photo galleries, Instagram embeds, custom maps, automated adding to Pinmapple and more. We also offer many of the features you love on Peakd such as drafts and post scheduling. And if you want, you can even use our easy site builder to set up your own travel blog on your own domain which can be a great way to generate a passive income from your blog!
Unfortunately, focussing on developing the best platform for travelers means that we no longer curate the #travelfeed tag. But, you can log in with your Hive account on TravelFeed.io to publish your next travel post, and it will be posted to Hive automatically! Every day, we select the best posts and reward them with an upvote and added visibility.
We would love to see you on TravelFeed.io soon :)
Wow, how amazing. Look at these great old pieces and see how memorable things like that elephant on the side of the road have come out of them.
Even in these antiques you can see beauty. For me this cemetery is one of those curiosities of the world. I loved it!
Thanks for sharing it, and welcome to this community of travelers! ☺️ A hug 🤗
Thanks so much! Glad to know you enjoyed the photos and share. Wisconsin has a bunch of curiosities, so I'm looking forward to sharing even more of them.
How cool! It's great that there is someone to share them. I would love to see them, I love to see the world, and this is one of the easiest ways to do it, through someone else's eyes. What they show us! 🤗
