Hello there!
Having completed my earlier travel posts on several interesting countries, such as Japan, Maldives, Indonesia and US, it's probably time to share about my recent Europe trip! If you are keen to find out which countries and cities I visited, you can read the quick summary here.
There is actually a back story behind this trip. My friend and I planned this trip a few years back and it was supposed to take place in Apr 2020, but as most of you would know, Covid 19 pandemic came and we had to cancel the trip due to all the travel restrictions and health advisories. So we planned for this trip in 2025 and it finally materialised!

Vatican City - The Beautiful Ceilings Of Vatican Museum
Before I start this post, I just want to do a shoutout to Worldmappin's current challenge! You can check out the post here. There are some prizes to be won but the most important thing is to have fun!
We continued our journey in Vatican City at the Vatican Museum, and this time, we got a glimpse of the Sistine Chapel. Why a glimpse? It's because we could only see the interior of Sistine Chapel through this drawing. If you are aware, a few months ago, they were choosing a new Pope and we happened to visit 1 day after the new Pope was chosen. As such, I think some parts of the compound including Sistine Chapel might have been closed to the public because of the all the proceedings.
Here's another drawing of the Sistine Chapel. I guess that's the consolation prize we had. Such things would happen unplanned during travel and we just got to adapt to the situation.
This was an exhibit in the museum and there's the same thing in the Sistine Chapel as well, if you were to look closely in the previous photos.
And so we proceeded to continue touring the rest of the Vatican Museum! It's so huge! More artistic drawings and paintings on the walls and the ceilings, and more photos, and more neck aches from constantly looking upwards at the ceiling!
What a beautiful ceiling? Don't you wonder how people in the past did this?
Some of these photos did give me the 3D feels, but I can assure you that all of them are 2D. Hehe!
Look up! Neck ache time! Haha.
There's so much happening within these photos. Well, because I am not religious, I must admit I can't really appreciate all the references. Hopefully some of you reading this find these drawings and paintings meaningful and can appreciate all the events and the details. Let me know in the comments below if you do!
We moved off from the eventful drawings to more artistic and beautiful ceilings. This has probably gone on for several posts now but I was never bored admiring these paintings. Every single one was so beautifully done and I could imagine the effort that went behind each drawing. And you could see that every room and every ceiling had its unique style and probably a different story to tell.
How many more rooms do we have left? Haha. I think it's final stretch so I will leave you to enjoy the remaining photos!
And yay - we have came to the end of the Sistine Chapel and Vatican Museum tour! 28 awesome photos in this one and many more in the earlier posts. Despite being one of the smallest countries in the world, Vatican City is indeed an amazing place and has a lot of "treasures", be in history, culture, religion, and it's definitely one of the must visit places if you are in Rome or somewhere in Italy. I really enjoyed this morning visit even though it was extremely crowded, and we probably have one more attraction to cover in Vatican City. Can you guess where would that be? :P
And that's all I have today! Have you been to Vatican City? Let me know in the comments below!
