Hello there!
Having completed my earlier travel posts on several interesting countries and regions, including Japan, Maldives, Indonesia, US, Europe, New Zealand and the latest one being Australia, it's time to fly over to United Kingdom!
This was a trip I made in 2014, I was there partly for work and partly for leisure as well. At that point in my life, it was one of the further destination that I have travelled all the way from Asia and it was definitely an eye opener to see how United Kingdom, or more specifically London, looked like. One thing that I remembered vividly was how strong GBP was, and everything was so expensive. For example, even though the numerical digits of the prices were small, because 5 or 10 GBP was easily a lot already. Anyway, time to relive those moments as I share the sights and sounds of my experience!

For today's sharing, we head off to see the Beating Retreat at the House Guards Parade. The parade is an annual event and I was very fortunate that this took place on the dates which I was in London. We all travel to see new experiences, so I knew I had to get the tickets and experience this for myself.
I arrived early at the venue and they had guards outside checking the tickets.

Brochures and information booklets were available too!

This was the actual parade ground. I was early so I spent some time exploring the place and taking some photos too.

The buildings in the background made the grounds feel more historical for sure.

Some photos of the structures and cannon as well.

The grounds were filling up slowly and I patiently waited for the show to begin.

And finally, it's time to enjoy the show!

The stands were packed by then!

It's always fascinating seeing the uniform personnel do the march in with the military band music.

What surprised me massively was that I didn't expect there to be fireworks! I thought it was just going to be a military parade and musical, so it was pretty exciting to see the sparks.

There were also horse carriages on display too!

The parade finally reached the climax and I was super excited to see these fireworks shot right up into the sky. As the sky darkened into the evening, the fireworks looked brighter and it was really amazing!

Finally, the parade and musical came to an end. Wow! What a spectacle! Awesome work to the all the personnel who put together such a wonderful and enjoyable show. The photos would never do justice to the actual atmosphere there and I was glad that I took a leap of faith to buy the ticket, not fully knowing what to expect, and came down to watch the show!
And that's all I have today! Have you been to London or United Kingdom? Let me know in the comments below!
