United Kingdom - A Journey Through Time At Stonehenge

Hello there!

Having completed my earlier travel posts on several interesting countries and regions, including Japan, Maldives, Indonesia, US, Europe, New Zealand and the latest one being Australia, it's time to fly over to United Kingdom!

This was a trip I made in 2014, I was there partly for work and partly for leisure as well. At that point in my life, it was one of the further destination that I have travelled all the way from Asia and it was definitely an eye opener to see how United Kingdom, or more specifically London, looked like. One thing that I remembered vividly was how strong GBP was, and everything was so expensive. For example, even though the numerical digits of the prices were small, because 5 or 10 GBP was easily a lot already. Anyway, time to relive those moments as I share the sights and sounds of my experience!

Here are the posts so far:
United Kingdom - Living The Football Dream With Chelsea
United Kingdom - The Beauty Of Art and Shopping In London
United Kingdom - Spectacular Fireworks at Horse Guards Parade
United Kingdom - Discovering History At The Tower Of London
United Kingdom - Breathtaking Views From The Shard

United Kingdom - Exploring Bath Abbey And Roman Baths

We continued off from the beautiful Bath towards somewhere where I was super excited about! And that's the Stonehenge! I know some of you guys will say, ah these are just slabs or rocks and stones, but to me, it's a lot more than that! There's the artistic side of the structure, the history behind how this took place, and so much more to learn and admire about this place of interest!

The location of Stonehenge is quite out of nowhere and I caught these photos while we were on our way there.

And finally we arrived! There were a lot of people as expected but the space was definitely big enough for everyone to walk around and take some photos.

So here's the Stonehenge! For the rest of the photos, I took them while I made the usual round about the entire Stonehenge, and it allowed me to see the different angles and viewpoints on the Stonehenge structure. After all, we already paid for the ticket hehe!

So there was also another side where they had a visitor experience centre and it showcased some interesting history and information about the Stonehenge itself.

Just look at the size of the slab of rock that somehow people had to transport and arrange back then!

They also had indoor areas where they had a digital screen which allowed visitors to see Stonehenge through the history (the structure did change due to nature forces) and through the seasons as well, which I thought was quite interesting.

And no surprise, this is a World Heritage Site!

And that's it for the tour of Stonehenge! Maybe it's just me, but I do feel these historical sites are magical in their own way, and it's fascinating to think of how these places were created and what their significance to the people back then was. I was excited before coming to Stonehenge and I definitely left the site feeling extremely satisfied and happy!

And that's all I have today! Have you been to Stonehenge or United Kingdom? Let me know in the comments below!

Remembering that time when we all had Stonehenge on our desktops? 😍 would be awesome to visit all those real places from Windows wallpaper pack. 🤗 Great blog!
